That don't sound good. Scripts so bad they shut down production. I mean the original V Series was so bad it only lasted a handful of episodes. What is ABC expecting to happen here? A 7 season V Franchise? Let's be realistic.
This V'll tank too. Seems it's already jumping the shark & it hasn't even come on yet. On "G1" V, the humanoid "reptiles" using Earth's life as their Hometown Buffet made sense. The whole water plotline was dumb, & displayed massive astronomical ignorance, even in 1983 Martin was WRONG, water is NOT rare by any means in the universe. See NG's ALIEN EARTHs show H20's pretty common. Having the Visitors be from Sirius was stupid too. Bad star to pick. All wrong. Alpha Centauri, Tau Ceti, Epsilon Indii, Epsilon Eridani, Upsilon Andromedae, Zeta Reticuli entc ent al. No shortage of scientifically better suns. Sirius were they thinking The '83 mini-series was good. The '84 mini was OK, but flew over a school of hammerheads with it's craptacular retarded finale. The Friday night Fall '84/Spring'85 series was bad. Nostalgic now yes, but still sucky. Kenneth Johnson wrote a novel- V:The Second Generation- which IGNORES the '84 mini & '84/'85 TV show & set in 2003 I think. I never read KJ's book so as to it's quality. My 3 cents
Did/does ALIEN NATION take place in an alternate/parallel universe to the universe of the Original V The Newcomer's refugee ship at the beginning of AN looks just like a Visitor mothership. Both V & AN were Kenneth Johnson projects, so the Slag's refugee ship at AN's opening is probably reused &/or unused V mothership(s) stock footage. Still, AN could be in an AU of 80's V ()
From what I've read elsewhere, there is a major pissing match over creation rights - whether they should be given to the guy who made V in the first place, or the guy in charge of the re-imaged show.
The new book had some ridiculous concepts in it. I was hoping they'd make a sequel miniseries out of it, until I got a load of the content.
V's lightning struck ONCE with the 2 miniseries a quarter century ago! The T.V. series was craptacular lulz. Yet AGAIN, another phucking reboot/reimagining/remake Pathetic
