My WF search ability sucks. IIRC, O2C posted an article a while back talking about a clinic in Texas that was providing basic health care to the citizens of that town for a certain fee per month. It was hugely successful until the government came along. I tried Google too, but couldn't find anything. Kindly help?
Still not it. I'm almost 90% sure O2C posted it, and the article talked about a small town in Texas(I think)....where the doctors set up their own insurance system and the patients would pay them directly instead of paying the insurance companies. And for that fee, they would get health care from the doctor. And then the government and the insurance companies came calling and shut it all down.
I'm thinking you've got some of the facts mixed up, but since I don't remember it too clearly I would probably get them just as mixed up if I tried to set you straight. But it will be hard to find, because I'm pretty sure it was a passing subject in one of the huge healthcare threads. There definitely was a discussion along the lines of what you mention, though.
Found it, I believe. And, as is to be expected, I did have my facts mixed up. It was actually a short thread, not a passing subject in a longer thread on health care. Is that the one you're looking for?
