I've recently played a little Dip on www.worldleadersthegame.com

This is a site with an automated adjudicator and a pretty nice interface. Since I've played a couple games with people on this site, I thought I'd mention it. How about creating a Wordforge private game on that server? Registration is quick, free and painless.

If you're interested let me know in the thread and post the name you signed up under.

    Kindly, Thomas

    I have created:

    Wordforge Contest 2009
    Game Code : 1252507955 Password : tehbaba

Each turn advances automatically in 3 days but if players lock orders earlier, it advances earlier.

I don't get what it is, and I don't like clicking links.

I suspect plenty of Wordforgers feel the same.

It's only one move every three days with an added wait before the first move so you might's well sign up immediately.

    Cool, Spider in, +Bailey means we're 5/7.

If I decide to play am I guaranteed to win? I really don't like to lose. :marathon:

We still lack 3 players for this game. Anyone willing to fill up, or maybe convince a friend to play, would be welcome.

I can pretty much guarantee I'd be almost no challenge at all, but I can fill in if you're really hard up for players.

    Some convenient things to know.

Diplomatic talk is done by the private message system on the site. If there's a red flag on the mailbox next to the game when you log on, this means you have mail.

When you're done with your orders and are sure you don't want to change, click "Lock Orders". This will update the turn when all players have done so, and save time.

And for the relatively new players - remember communication is the key to winning.

    Spring 1901.

    Russia:
    A War - Pru *Bounce
    F Sev - BlS *Bounce
    F SP (S) - GoB
    A Mos - Lvn

Russia opens with Livonian System, German Attack Variation, with the slight difference that Warsaw is ordered to Prussia instead of Silesia. Either he has solid intelligence on German intents or just getting lucky; either way, it's turned out to be a good answer to both the German and Austrian openings, and will save Warsaw for this year.

    Britain:
    A Lvp - Wal
    F Lon - EnC
    F Edi - NTH

Britain starts with a Southern Opening, Welsh Variant, which succeeds. This is either a sign of a good understanding between the Channel powers, or it will have warning bells going off in French headquarters. The Prime Minister is now in a pretty good spot to secure two builds in the first year; a rarity for England.

    France:
    F Bst - MiA
    A Par - Bur
    A Mar S A Par - Bur

Maginot System (or Atlantic Opening, Maginot Variant). This is the single most popular French opening for online play. Of course, every move succeeds, because none can fail. If France can trust the English intentions, he's set up for a good first year. If not...

    Turkey:
    A Sna - Con
    A Con - Bul
    F Ank - BlS *Bounce

Balkan Concentration. There's not a lot to talk about when it comes to Turkish opening theory; it hardly even exists. This opening is very common, and the fleet move is usually a pre-arranged standoff, since neither Russia nor Turkey feels he can trust the other with entering Black Sea.

    Germany:
    A Ber - Pru *Bounce
    F Kie S A Ber H *Broken
    A Mun - Sil

Unnamed opening, obviously. The fleet in Kiel is misordered; since the German player is new, it's not uncommon to see such things. If it had been ordered anywhere, this would've been a Barbarossa opening, which is the most anti-Russian of all German openings. Because of Russia's moves, one of the armies don't make its destination - if it had, Warsaw would probably have been lost next move. Germany had better start thinking about ways to get a build for the first year, come Fall.

    Italy:
    F Nap - IoS
    A Ven - Tri
    A Rom - Apu

A cross between a Lepanto and an Austrian Attack opening in which all moves succeed; this could be either prearranged, the result of a miscommunication between Italy and Austria, or a deliberate stab. Because of the somewhat unexpected success of all of Austria's orders, there is no way for the Reds to push Italy out of Trieste. It is, however, a bit hard to see where Italy is going with this.

    Austria:
    F Tri - Alb
    A Vie - Gal
    A Bud - Rum

Rumanian Gambit, Warthog Variant. This is a very rarely used opening, that has to be described as anti-Russian in nature. By ignoring Serbia, Austria has created a situation where Turkey can conceivably deny him this supply center in the Fall, and more than that, it would be hard to see how Austria can take it, which is uncommon. It is quite probable that Austria expected Bud - Rum to fail, thus setting up a supported attack on this center in the fall, or some other option.
