Redux of the Clinton WH, and the Lincoln Bedroom LINK[/yes] Hope and change bitches, the Barry way. Barry Obama
Are we trying to suggest that this is somehow a democrat thing? It's just the way our politics works. Whoever thinks or thought otherwise is delusional.
No surprise here. But it's interesting that this sort of thing is now being circulated by the same people who call Obama a socialist. How do they suppose that is so if he's beholden to his rich donors?
I'm not trying to suggest that at all. I'm still pointing out over and over that the president is a slimy politician when he said repeatedly and his followers still typically believe that he's all about the change.
Socialists aren't NOT beholden to their donors. This particular hypocrisy has very little to do with one's economic viewpoints.
So you think it's perfectly consistent for Obama and the super-rich to be sucking up to each other and for him to be intent on redistributing their wealth?
He might well be about other kinds fo change but hwo he raises his campaigning dollar is going to stay. Having said that the Obama campaign itself (pre-election) was extremely successful at getting small individual donations. More so than previous campaigns. So there's a bit of change.
whut? I'm saying that socialists are no better than anyone else at taking people's money and giving back favors. That tendency has nothing to do with whether they think redistribution of wealth is a valid government goal. But the fact that they're doing this is further proof that the campaign promise of changing the practices of the past was a blatant lie. It's just not the Chicago way.
So far, the only "bit of change" he's been interested in is what he could wring out of donors for the party.
You continue to miss the point, perhaps intentionally. Rich people support Obama, and did so in greater numbers than they did John McCain or any other presidential candidate ever. I put it to you that they would not do so if he was in fact a socialist.
Oh. Is that the point you're trying to make? I don't suppose you've considered the fact that rich people contributing massive amounts to him may have been in a self-preservatory vein, have you? It certainly hasn't done any good. In fact, it should get a lot of people over the misguided notion that money buys government policies.
If they thought Obama was a socialist, I think they're intelligent enough to know that self-presevation would have been better served by not funding him at all. In this case, money does buy government policies, since Obama is handing over as much public money to big business as quickly as he possibly can.
Another thing that is funny is that Obama has played golf more in 9 months then Bush did in 2 and a half years. I guess Afghanistan isn't actually a war.
Or maybe it's not that Obama really believes in anything but his own preservation and empowerment. His acceptance of this cash, if true, just signals that he's willing to allow himself to be sold to the highest bidder.
Maybe if we could get the Taliban to report some news the administration would devote more than 30 minutes to figuring out a way to fight them.
Come to think of it, he never actually promised to do anything. It was all just a bunch of hype, wasn't it? I feel so much better now.
Who's apologizing? You threw out the "hope and change" strawman, so I'm asking you if you can back it up. Evidently, you can't. Hey, remember when nothing could pry your lips off Dubyas cock? Those were the days.
Good grief. 1.) Get a dictionary. 2.) I didn't bring up hope and change except to deride it as a stupid campaign slogan your candidate brought up to deceive the electorate.
