But didn't get one, you should take a trip to Crossville, TN.

Impressive, but.....I would have to see it in person.
Because if any part of the tree-house is supported by the ground (in other words the house is not contained entirely in the tree) it's not a true tree-house.

Sorry, but I'm from the old-school.

But he did stay true to the tree-house ethos by using old lumber.

I used to love building tree-houses when I was a kid in Illinois - huge oaktrees where everywhere.

^ Clearly from the pic it has supports on the ground.

Looks like a giant death trap. No one would survive that thing if it fell in on itself.

Would make an awesome movie set though, I'm guessing no horror since a minster owns it.

I still think it's pretty cool. Since this guy isn't selling it to anyone, I have no problem with him building something big and unsafe.

It looks huge, I wonder what the square footage is. I'd also be curious to know what kind of amenities it has (as far as power, water, sewer, internet, etc).

Edit: Just looked at the article, looks like its between 8,000 and 10,000 sq feet. Apparently he's spent about $12,000 on it (and a lot of time).

~9000 sq ft for 12k? Seems like a pretty good deal!

    It's a Wookie house!!

I always wanted a lot of porches and balconies. I like that aspect of it!

Same here. I'm pretty impressed except, I agree with oldfella, not really a tree-house exactly since it does touch the ground. LOL
