We have a Toyota Avalon and Highlander. Neither of which I can parallel park! I suck at parking so much!! I can drive super well, just not park.
Like I said, somebody does that in our parking garage at work. The car doesn't stick out into the traffic lane at all.
I'm going to have to find something small soon. My 95 Escort is starting to go south on me entirely too often these days.
those things are a joke, Went to a car show where they had one on display, the engine is under a flap under the 4x2 "cargo area." I was looking for the pull string. I asked the smart car sales rep if i had to add 2 cycle engine oil to the fuel.
I think the Smart is not a bad car. It is quite comfortable and spacious on the inside. I don't care if it has virtually no cargo capability or that it isn't the first car I'd choose for long journeys. You use it to go from A to B in a crowded city. That's all, and the vehicle excels in doing just that. I've driven it a few times, and it's a lot more fun to drive around in this car than in all the other cheap small cars on the market. For long journeys on the Autobahn I drive a Mercedes S-Class every now and then, and there really is no substitute to this amazing car. But to get a carton of milk in a supermarket downtown, I'd prefer the Smart before anything else. It just comes down to what you want to do with the car. There's no single car that is best for everything.
I too, require different vehicle capabilities, depending on my purpose at the moment. For longer road trips, I take a Jeep TJ. For daily commutes to work, I switch to a Jeep TJ. But when I'm just making a quick run to the store, I go with the Jeep TJ. Sometimes it snows where I live, though. Just in case, I keep a Jeep TJ around. Plus, once in awhile I'll hit the beach or a national park somewhere. For that, I have a Jeep TJ parked outside.
This concept appears to be sporting Scion badges, but it sure looks like it was inspired by a Smart car. (More pics at the link.)
