I can deal with the whole vegetarian thing, but he obviously has no taste if he can't stand the idea of a side of turkey being eaten with cranberry sauce. He needs to see what all the fuss is about, once and for all.
Deep down vegitarians and vegans know they are denying themselves something which is very yummy and a natural part of the human diet so they end up continually lying to themselves saying "meat is disgusting" to make their self denial more acceptable to themselves. I can understand someone deciding not to eat meat for ethical reasons but don't you dare say it doesn't taste great or is "disgusting" because even the diehard vegans know meat tastes great. That's why they have to constantly lie to themselves about it.
Sure, meat tastes great, but I could live without it. I tried it for a month a while back and my only complaint was the lack of choices in restaurants around here. If I lived somewhere with more meat-free options I could easily be a vegetarian. Well, no I couldn't. I could never stop eating sushi.
I live in an area with lots of vegetarian options. When I go out to eat with my girlfriend, I will often get vegetarian food. I love meat, but I too could easily go without it. I have been pretty much a vegetarian for the past month. Yesterday was my first time really eating meat since November 3rd.
