Why is it that after more than 2000 years, no one has been able to find the Tombs of Alexander the Great, Ptolemy I, Cleopatra, or Mark Antony. No one knows what happened to Clepatra's sons Antony Helios or Ptolemy Philadelphius either. Hell, they don't even know what was done with the body of her oldest son Cesarian.

You figure that over the centuries, someone would have been competent enough to have kept some kind of records on the burial whereabouts of these people.

Maybe they were found, and looted or destroyed? And that's why no-one now knows where they are?

Alexander the 1st (the great) died in Persia so his tomb will be there (and was probably looted days after his sudden deathfrom over drinking) while the Ptolemies mostly would have had their tombs in Alexandria most of which is now underwater and jumbled up via the numerous earthquakes which sent most of Alexandria underwater over the last 2000 years.
