They'd only dry her tears if she wore them over her head.

    That could be interesting . . .

If people start going after Obama's kids do you think he'll just laugh it off like you expect Palin to?

Well, at least you understood that he was laughing off the remarks about his ears. I'm not sure Tamar did.

And I personally think it's disgraceful that anyone would make fun of Palin's teenage daughter with Down Syndrome. Oh, wait.

Does anyone else see the irony in the fact that the actress who did the V/O has more insight into what that script was really about than Palin's posse?

So basically everybody who's cool with the episode should have their opinion respected but everybody who isn't cool with the episode is a moron who should shut the fuck up and have their opinion ridiculed?

The beauty of the thing is what's escaping the "clever" folks though.

I had no illusions that this was supposed to be Trig since it was (a) a female and (b) a teenager - assuming the scene wasn't one of those cutaway things where they jump to a future or past event (which is what I thought the very first time I saw the clip).

It was clearly a (VERY WEAK) dig at her. In fact, the joke is so astoundingly unfunny (not because of the subject matter, just because it's fails to make one laugh) one pretty much HAS to assume that the writer is purposely baiting her to "make herself look stupid" by whining about it being something it wasn't. I'm sure FG is congratulating themselves right now that she stepped into the trap.

The problem is that only THEY and a few others who already are in the "Palin is a moron" camp will read it that way.

For the great majority of folks who don't check DU and the HuffPost every morning to find out what they think, it doesn't scan as "stupid bitch stepped into a well crafted trap" - rather, it looks like "Innocent child picked on by Hollywood jerk, while loving mother doesn't take that shit lying down"

Which is to say, for the folks out there who MIGHT vote for her, it's another point in her favor!

Even though they are misreading the "joke"

So I have to ask - who exactly stepped into who's trap again?

If "Family Guy" level satire is the worst she has to worry about right now, Skin thinks she's doing all right. Bit like coming back from the beaches of Normandy and being confronted by the Lollipop Guild.

Logically, a politician who is overly sensitive should not be in high office.

There is little doubt that persons such as Osama bin Laden or Vladimir Putin will be as polite as McFarland.

Except of course, that she's not ACTUALLY oversensitive, she's using McFarlane and his ilk as leverage to appear more sympathetic to potential voters. And they are so enamored with their own cleverness they don't even see how they are being played.

The "Stupid Bitch" is running rings around the "clever" left.

Saw Seth McFarland on Bill Maher last night, he offered a disappointingly weak defense of the episode. Basically all they had to say was "she doesn't have a sense of humor" and "it was satire."

Only it wasn't "satire," it was a lame joke that went nowhere, and wasn't relevant to the rest of the episode.

For those who haven't seen the ep, Chris Griffin is inexplicably attracted to a girl at school who has Down's Syndrome. With Stewie's help, he sets out to win her heart. Unfortunately for him, the girl for some reason turns out to be a demanding, bossy bitch. When Chris figures this out, he dumps her, and presto, reset button pressed, and we move on to next week's ep. The highlight of the show (as is the case with many episodes), is the song & dance number with Chris & Stewie.

Bill Maher said it best last night - Palin is the queen of fake outrage. First David Letterman, now Family Guy. So she runs to Bill O'Rielly and they both spend a few minutes pretending to be outraged. She's going to glom onto whatever she can to drum up some sympathy and publicity. People aren't so stupid they don't know the game she's playing.

Allowing you are correct in every point you made before the bold (and while it's maybe a bit overstated the basic idea is probably true) your post is flawed in this respect:

The VAST majority of voters ARE "that stupid"

Or at least as you are using the word "stupid" here.

If voters really were "not-stupid" enough to catch on to tactics like this, the make up of office holders in DC would look WILDLY different than it currently does.

Edit: And that includes Maher and Olberman and that crowd - they fall for bullshit from different folks, but they still are having the wool pulled over their eyes.

Watch the peruvian flute band episode! If you don't like any South Park you'll at least like that one episode!

That's family guy in a nutshell. Every episode has a lame sequence that doesn't have anything to do with the episode's plot. I've never understood the appeal. South Park and the Simpsons are ten times more funny. Even their worst episodes are better than anything on Family Guy because at least South Park and the Simpsons try to be original.

The conservative response to liberal satire was The 1/2 Hour News Hour, proving conclusively that conservatives have literally no sense of comedic timing or humor beyond Dennis Miller.

Siding with Tex on this one. She chastises Letterman and Emanuel for making retard comments, but defends Limbaugh when he does it because it's satire, but then chastises Family Guy when they do it? Despite it being satire as well? She's a hypocritical and uneducated piece of white trash who used her downs syndrome baby to garner support for her VP election. Though, Trig might turn out to be smarter than Sarah in the long run. Let's hope Trig gets into a position of political power long before Sarah does again.

I also think it's hilarious that the actress who voiced the retard on Family Guy legitimately has Downs Syndrome, has more brains than Palin, and thinks she is a hypocritical cunt as well.

How many people actually watched the episode who are complaining about it? It was literally a three second joke, and Family Guy has made WAY more offensive jokes than this in the past about Palin.

And seriously, the most offensive part of the episode was the retarded song and dance number that Seth MacFarlane still thinks is funny.

Edit: not to mean that the song and dance number was actually "retarded' but rather just utterly pointless and unfunny.
