Drugs? Suicide? Long-standing emotional problems? What says our resident Trek insider, Garamet?

I was pretty sure this was how it was going to turn out, but I was hoping it wouldn't.

I did too. Generally, when these missing person cases drag out more than 2 or 3 days, it's bad news.

Another article said there had been no activity on his cell phone or bank accounts since he disappeared. There was probably only going to be one outcome to this situation.....

There were some reports he left notes to family indicating he was very depressed. Take it from one who knows, that's a bitch.

I couldn't possible imagine what this would be like, and I don't ever want to find out. May his memory live on in peace, and may comfort and solace come to his family and friends in this time of tragedy. :(

On the upside (such as can be had in this kind of situation), given how dedicated Trekkies/Trekkers are, Walter will have an unlimited amount of support and good wishes thrown his way. I'm sure if he wants to start a foundation in memory of his son, he'll quickly find people willing to donate money.

Three things that stood out in the article:
-"Adam-12"!? How long did that run? He must've been a little kid in that.
-Venice? I wonder if garamet wound up getting any of his stuff at the garage sale.
-"Batman: Dead End"!? Who'd he play? Batman, the Joker, the Alien, or the Predator? I'm guessing the Joker.
[edit: Almost forgot: "My Sister Sam"! That was the one with Pam "Mork & Mindy" Dawber, where her costar, "Sam" got murdered!]

I feel for the guy. I can imagine being 41 and your life isn't going anywhere and the writing's on the wall. :(

You are quite correct. Walter Koenig and his wife are no doubt going over and over in their heads, "What did I do?" "What could I have done?" "What didn't I see?" "Why didn't I see?" Seeing as how the majority of people who commit suicide leave no note, these are questions that will never go away, and as parents, haunt them for the rest of their lives. It's an absolutely terrible thing to live with. I wish them the best, and I hope that the deceased Mr. Koenig finds the peace in death that so eluded him in life. I can't really offer more than that besides don't blame the victim. Nobody commits suicide because want to die. They do it because they simply cannot handle the duress and/or pain they are in, and most hide it so well that when the news breaks, it rocks the lives of everyone they knew.

According to IMDB, he was in the episode of DS9 titled "Sanctuary". It's one of the few DS9 episodes I've not yet seen.

They were saying on the news he was spending a lot of money, and he was the frugal sort. He was also giving away a lot of his stuff - something people who are about to commit suicide usually do before killing themselves.

    There's still 2 Coreys?

Not to be insensitive, but he was found in Stanley Park which is where gays go for anonymous sex and to do drugs. Just throwing that out there. Vancouver has a seedy underbelly of drugs and prostitution that I've seen people fall in to before. There's also a ton of hobos that live in those woods, although I am unclear on their sexual preference (whiskey?).

Gay drug-addicted hoboes are a handful, no doubt.
