OH.MY.GOD. Those folks who yell the loudest against "the gays" are the ones who are terrified they are or might be homosexual. This further bears that out. You gotta think that old fuck Phelps in Kansas has fantasies about young hairless men all the time.
Makes sense.....who doesn't hire a hairless boy with delicate features when they need heavy lifting done? :unconvinced: BTW Rekers may not be able to lift luggage, but he sure totes around a lot of baggage!
As someone with a similar experience (though it's not homosexuality, it is condemned by the same people and the same line of reasoning) I would object to the use of the phrase "self hating" That stems from the idea that evangelicals (or Catholics or whoever argues against homosexuality) HATEs homosexuals. It's not hatred. it might be fear in some sense, but it's not fear in the "they are coming for us" sense, but fear of failure, fear of being condemned by God. It all goes back to the persistent and constant teaching that God hates homosexuality (with the unsaid implication that he hates it even more than any other sin) and that if one ever is even tempted to this one should flee in terror of being found in that place of judgment. These are people (self included) totally subsumed in a culture which tells them that this is something that (a) is a great sin; and (b) is a choice Thye, in short, don't know any better. In such a mindset it is perfectly understandable that a man who was fighting those "demons" within his own mind would build his life's work around trying to "rescue" and "save" young people from the internal tortures he feels. That is a perfectly natural and even noble instinct within the context of what he'd been taught was true. It doesn't flow from hatred, it can very easily flow from love - just a misinformed worldview underlying it.
