Indeed - Augusta is knee-deep in armed-robbing street scum, like any Southern city. My son is excited about turning 21 soon so he can buy a handgun + go "concealed carry." It makes sense: He and his friends like to go downtown and shop + walk around window shopping, etc. Basically like we used to do when I was a kid - downtown was the place! He enjoys being a pedestrian, encountering people face to face versus car window to car window. But so many of his friends have been robbery victims. You don't have to be drunk, alone, or out past midnight around here to get robbed.
I don't own a gun, so I'd probably use my knife and just start wildly slicing whatever flesh I saw comin' through the window.
I'm not saying I'd never buy a gun...and it'd definitely be higher on my priority list if I lived in a place where home invasions were commonplace and likely, but I live in the suburbs in Nebraska...in an apartment...with secured entry...and a loud, yappy dog...surrounded by a ton of houses full of waaaay nicer shit to steal.
He's in my home uninvited? No warning, no discussion, no statements; I'm assuming he's a threat to my safety and well-being and the safety of my family. His life is forfeit. End of Line.
