http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/05/25/AR2010052503810.html Wow, what a whiny child!!! What stood out particularly for me in this article is Obama's statement that the left is pressuring him. The left is pressuring him? GMAB. What's comprised of the left now is a shell of what it once was. Most on the left are way too timid (or still too deluded cultists) to call Obama out for not delivering progressive goals. If what little criticism he has experienced from the left so far has him whining already, then he is a bigger wimp than I thought he was. Geez. What a clueless pampered narcissist, so pathetically bewildered and resentful on realizing that "hey, maybe the world doesn't revolve around me after all." I have no sympathy for O here. Bill Clinton managed to work even with Newt and still get stuff done. So maybe O, you should ask Bill a few things about how to be Presidential. Hint -- it doesn't involved calling your opposition Nazis, racists and seditionists. And lest we forget (or lest some deluded Obama defender tries the stale race card), remember, even David Axelrod once said that Obama may be too thin-skinned....
Not nearly as bad as Rand Paul's groveling submissive-piss posturing to the left when questioned about the civil rights' act.
Obama, I don't want to hear it. You wanted that fucking job, now deal with it, or resign, or just wait until it gets closer to 2012 and Hillary puts the knife in your back.
Everything that I know tells me that Hillary is not planning to run in 2012. I mean, I know people have this idea that Hillary is just waiting for Obama to implode etc, but I don't get the sense that she is interested anymore. I observed her reaction right after the primaries ended, where her and Bill went at the time, and I think she is over the Presidency, and has been for some time. Just my two cents. If people want Obama out of office in 2012, it will be left to the Republicans. Besides, I prefer her as Empress of the known universe anyway.
Then there is also Hillary's statement on Chinese TV from earlier today: She sounds pretty absolute, imo.
Hillary... surrendering? Giving up? That word is NOT in her political vocabulary. She'll challenge him. I've never seen a Sec. of State in modern times who has DISTANCED herself from the administration so well. Rice and Albright were in as many pictures with their respective presidents as possible. Clinton is just WAITING to re-enter the picture with a vengeance saying "see... this guy is an empty suit. Save the party. Elect me." Only she'll be more suave than that. She's an excellent actress. Right now she's doing everything right abroad, making Obama happy. What he doesn't realize because he's an idiot is that she's succeeding in her job and he's failing miserably.
^^I don't think it's that exactly. Even if she thought she could win (which I think she would, especially since now people have had some experience with O)....I just think that she has moved on. The Presidency, I would offer, just doesn't interest her any longer. I can't say I blame her. As for why she isn't seen much in Washington, well she is traveling A LOT. Off the top of my head, I think she traveled ~ 250,000 miles in 2009 alone.
In any case, recent history indicates that challenging an incumbent results in both challenger and incumbent losing. Ford wasn't doing well so Reagan challenged him for the nomination in 1976. Ford got it anyway, then lost in the general. Carter was absolutely dismal in 1980, so Kennedy challenged him for the nomination. Carter got it anyway, then got destroyed in the general. I doubt that Clinton could get the nomination by challenging Obama, and I doubt either of them could win by doing that. It sends a message that clearly says: "Weak candidate, self-serving challenger." That gives a huge amount of ammunition to the other party. The only possible open avenue to Clinton in 2012 would be if Obama does a LBJ and realizes that seeking re-election will result in catastrophe. In that case, Clinton might have a chance in the general, if she wants it. (Just as Robert Kennedy would have had a very good chance against Nixon in 1968.)
^ Oh, I agree fully. Just as Carter's was. But it's still the only way that Clinton would have any chance. Otherwise, she is bound to lose and hurt O's chances of getting re-elected. Of course, for that very reason, I personally would love to see her do it!
