    Fair enough.

Your comment suggests you know how many people didn't like "Lost." I doubt that is true. My advice to a potential viewer? Watch the first couple of episodes, make up your own mind. I consider the show nothing but build up without resolution, but if you enjoy the series then enjoy the series.

The writers believed the audience was "smart enough" to overlook all the unanswered questions, to fill in the blanks they were unwilling or unable to fill in themselves? Hey, if that's how you want to perceive the storytelling more power to you. To me that's akin to my friend suggesting if you didn't like "Lost" it was because you were mentally inferior, or not "smart enough."

[bolding mine]I was referring to the OP as a reference of the few 'haters' of Lost.

[again, bolding mine] I certainly never said that. If someone doesn't like Lost, don't watch it. It's not everyone's cup of tea. Some viewers really love 24. I couldn't get into it. However, I'm not going to post anywhere that OMG you shouldn't watch 24 because it is the worst show evah!

Reposting a post I found via facebook:

"Part of what I got from LOST - is that all the unanswered questions in life is in some ways just a distraction from what's really important - which is relationships with other people. The rest of it is pretty inconsequential in the long run."

Here is the opening post of this thread:

No mention of the number of people who watched the show and didn't enjoy it.

What would you say to a friend considering watching 24 from beginning to end? Would you withhold your opinion simply because it wasn't flattering to the viewers who really liked the show? Or would you be honest?

I would say I love Keifer Sutherland, but I didn't like the the show, which I felt dragged on (the 1hr=1hr of his life) didn't appeal to me, but I can see how it appeals to others.

I only watched half of the first season before I lost interest. So I don't have a strong feeling one way or another, unlike OP.

Those few that didn't like the series (LOST), yet watched it anyway are in the minority over at the Trekbbs and the OP here.

The real-time aspect of the show should've resulted in at least a couple of episodes a season featuring Jack Bauer sleeping.

I made it to the end of the first season just because I wanted to see how it turned out.

Are you saying We Are Borg only watched half of the first season of Lost? I don't think that is the case.

You're only modifying your initial claim here, instead of claiming few people disliked the show, now you're claiming few people who watched every episode disliked the show.

Which is another statistic you cannot back-up.

What exactly do you want me to back up? That some members at the tbbs watched Lost, and didn't like it? Well. we had polls every week and commentary threads.

http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=121841 for example of the finale poll, which had 114 excellent to 17 poor.

    Or proof of viewership? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_(TV_series)

It went from 15+ million viewers to 11+ in the first 5 seasons, with appr ox. 13.5 million http://techblips.dailyradar.com/story/viewers-of-lost-finale-stayed-tuned/ for the finale.

So basically, my point is, try LOST if it appeals to you, and don't let a few on a message board (with an example here, and a few examples from the tbbs) deter you.

Watch a few episodes and make up your own mind seems to be the best advice.
