You need to find a nearby hospital with free wireless. My friend with sickle cell, who spends as much time or more in the hospital as Tamar does, really appreciates his hospital's internet connection.
Just have to make sure the damned wi-fi works. My hospital has wi-fi, but it cuts out and is really sporadic. Had several patients get their wi-fi cards to keep connected. And Tamar, tell your body to behave itself! You have too much to do here to be there.
Get well Tamar. Don't know if this is the appropriate place to ask, but what exactly is wrong with her? I have my share of health problems, but nothing in the order of magnitude that Tamar has. (I ask because I was discussing Tamars' hospital visit with my housemate, and she asked me what her illness was, and I couldn't say. If it's something you and Zel want to keep to yourselves, I do understand though). Again, get home soon.
Looking forward to hearing from you, Tamar. Zel's OK but there's no red-headed boobie pictures. Wait, you haven't done that for us in a while, either.
Not to speak for her & Zel, but IIRC, you know all those disclaimers they give you about birth control pills and all the horrible things they can do to you--the things that never happen to anyone? They happened to her.
Tamar was moved out of ICU tonight, and if her blood chemistry is corrected then she'll head home on Wednesday. Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes. Zel
Except in really strong molarities, I don't think that'd do anything to you worse than vomiting on an empty stomach would.
It doesn't look like I'll be around to wish her well when she gets back on the board, so I'll just say I hope the news is signifiantly better when I get back from Madagascar in December. God's best to you, Tamar!
Well, holy hell, thank God I'm home. I feel like I got hit by a train but so far so good. Apparently, I'm a big old mess. There is no definitive explanation for the bleeding I had in my lungs, several possibilities that it would cause more harm than good to find out for sure. I have to have a sleep study for sleep apnea, I have high blood pressure now and my kidneys are fucked up...dumping protien and nasty creatnine levels, but the ultrasound was normal and I have had no function issues yet so the nephrologist gets to tackle this one moving forward. Oddly, it seems depending on my kidneys the surgery option still isn't necessarily off the table, as it were. And in the last few years, some closer facilities have been getting into the cardiopulmonarythromboendaectomies. (say that five times fast ) It's at least possible I may have the surgery and do it in North Carolina at Duke or possibly even Boston. But that is a long way off for now. So I am better...no bleeding or anything scary. Just exhausted and really sore this time. Thank you all for hauling me through it all again, with your best wishes and prayers. Even when I can't get to a computer, Zel tells me about it and I get a good laugh out of your antics. I love you guys...thank you!
aw, yay. i'm glad things are better for you! so glad you're back. I would rep you but I'm on my phone and it's stupid. so I'll hug you instead <3
