Will the Dems continue to open their eyes that Obama/Pelosi/Reid wrought destruction on them?

Will the Dems bypass the incumbent President and give the nomination to someone besides Obama, effectively throwing him under the bus to prevent the ultimate destruction of the party?

I don't think so. Any possible candidate who isn't browner and/or femaler than Obama will be decried as a step backwards.

Unless Barry steps down for "health reasons", he has to be the Dem nominee. There's no way the Dems could afford to tell their base they aren't going with the minority candidate.

The only good that will come out of it will be the Dems being able to tell their base that the country is still too racist and that he won in 2008 because of George Bush or something.

There is no way it could happen.

One, I'd think we'd have riots. Seriously. It would be like 1968 all over again.

Two, once that was over with you'd see a whole lot of people not bothering to vote for whoever knocked him off the ticket. It might get so bad that the Republican wins all fifty states.

Three, the aftershocks of huge amounts of Democrats not voting because he got knocked out of the race would lead to more losses in the Congress and state legislatures and governorships for the Democrats.

The only way they would accept Obama not running was if he himself stepped down. Fortunately I don't see him doing that since he is a megalomaniac.

Although it would be a blast to watch if the Democrats tried it.

Hillary WILL challenge him, and if she fails (after the damage that's done) she'll have her last hurrah and run as a "Ross Perot II." Only this time, her lasting legacy will be a BIG FUCK YOU to the Democrats and handing back the White House to the Republicans, which they'll get with or without her, but "with" will be alot more fun.

Obama made the worst decision of his career appointing Sotomayor to that vacancy. You people think Hillary is content to sit in the shadows, keep her mouth shut (except on rare occasions to be FoxNew's whistleblower) and go around the world asking Lil Kimmy Jung Il to be nice? Hell no. She the damned cylons from the beginning of Battlestar Galactic (2004 ed.)

    She has a PLAN.

    That's amazing.

Once again the Democrats throw....wait....body slam, that's a better term, the black man under the bus to keep her in power. (the guy would have taken the number two spot)

I'll remind you sir that the Cylons in the end had no plan. It was just chase humans around. Not a plan at all.

Turns out it was God's plan all along.

I'm fairly certain that Hillarys plan is to hope Obama wins re-election, giving her a good chance of running in 2016.

a 69 year old Hillary probably isn't going to be as winsome a candidate as she was in 2008.

While I too think not, it would be poetic justice for all the Dem Congresscritters that Barry threw under the bus for his agenda.

I find it doubtful that the Democrats would fail to re-nominate an eligible sitting President as their candidate. Half of their base would defect. Obama himself has said that he'd rather be a successful one-term President than a mediocre two-termer, so it's conceivable that he might not run, tho I think his ego is much too large to allow that possibility.

The Dems appointing another candidate in 2012 is as likely as the Repubs appointing someone besides Bush in 2004 - despite most Republicans/Conservatives realizing he wasn't doing what they wanted either.

    So, not likely at all.

Given his volume, it's highly likely Mr. Obama has said pretty much everything there is to say on any given subject. Indications seem to show show the last part of your last sentence is probably correct.

But Bush was still very popular with Republicans and with a sizable percentage of the rest of the population. He pretty much cruised to re-election, remember?

Obama getting dumped should be much more likely. With politics the way it is, I have to say I don't think there's any way it's going to happen. Remember, this is the same system that re-elected Pelosi and allows her to get away with her spinning her history.

I don't think Bush was all that popular in 2004. Bush didn't win the election so much as Kerry lost it.

The Dems have no choice but to run the Obamassiah for a second term, which will cause a shoo-in for any Republican candidate they nominate to run against him.

Hell, at this point you could run Jim Neighbors in his wedding dress, and he'd beat Obama.

Maybe, but his numbers, post 9/11, were still really high. He won solidly.

9/11 was in 2001. 3 years before the elections. He wasn't well liked here in Lake County and it's a fairly conservative area.

Nationwide, his popular total was just over 50 and his electoral, rather than squeaking by with 270 was over 280. It wasn't a run away win but it wasn't really even close. Like I said, Kerry was the best the Dems could do at the time, after all.

If there's a parallel to be drawn, (and it really already has been here) it's that Obama got a major advantage going in to 2012. If the Republicans take anything for granted, and Obama has learned anything about humility in the last month, Obama will win again.

All of you people expecting a minority riots and backlash against the Democrats should they decide not to go with OIbama in 2012 (as far fetched as it sounds) should stop holding your breath. It's not gonna happen. As usual, African Americans will vote in the range of 90% Democratic regardless.

I don't know why you'd draw that conclusion. It just so happens that the issues Democrats run on resonate with African American voters. Nothing more, nothing less. do you honestly think that if the 2012 Republican nominee were J.C. Watts that 90% of AA's would vote for him? The Democrats could run the "Rich Whitey" guy from Illinois and he'd still get somewhere near that turnout as long as his politics were right.

Alpha, I have to disagree about riots not ensuing, history has shown us otherwise. RJ, Sharpton, et. al would be front and center instigating and you should well know that.

It's a moot point anyway, no chance in hell he won't get the nod.

With that said (and this is not necessarily aimed at you specifically) in 2012 when Obama runs, I want the Democratic party to put out an ad saying they denounce everyone that says Republicans must be racists for not voting for him. After all, whites don't vote in blocks for Republicans the way blacks do for Democrats.
