...on TLC makes me wanna hurl. She has spoiled any desire I might have had to ever visit Alaska. I hope this will be a major league "Red Room" in no time and not get exiled to Media Central to die a lonely, neglected death.
I miss the old TLC that had non-stop UFO's, Bigfoot, Area 51, and other insane programming. Fuck you, fat housewives.
I miss television in general that wasn't full of half plastic whores trying to cause drama because they are too stupid to find an actual career, hypocritical families who are apparently unbelievably conservative to the point they don't watch tv but have no problem broadcasting their entire life on tv, and every goddamn "reality" show and talent show and competition show that has no actual substance and is a waste of airtime. Now there is still some decent television out there, but its getting harder and harder to find it amidst the piles of monkeyshit people try to pass off as good television.
I've watched the intro cuz i couldn't find the remote and was very upset that Third Day would allow their music to be her theme song.
Which is why things like Hulu are going to take traditional television programming out back of the woodshed and redecorate its face. And, really, that's probably good for the American people. As more and more people abandon traditional programming in favor of being able to get only the shows they want to watch, it very well could mean less average hours spent in front of the television watching nothing interesting just because the damn thing is powered on.
You have to wonder. From what I've read, it has been one of the highest viewed programs in TLC's history.
The only thing I wanna see Sarah Palin in is some porn. Maybe she could cut a deal with Vivid Entertainment and do a reality show with them? I'd watch it.
Not really. I think the network is a waste of time. It seems like their shows in the past few years have been nothing but ridiculous "reality" shows. It seems to me like their shows are based on people and families that are degenerates, deformed, or do not know when to stop having children. Jon and Kate Plus 8, the plethora of shows about dwarfs and their families, the show about the family with 18, or 19 kids, and etc. I think Palin fits right in with the rest of the misfits that networks likes to use and make oodles of money off of.
Exactly my point. I used to watch TLC a fair amount. They had some good, interesting, educational shows once upon a time. They've sucked the big one for several years now. When you're that bad, you've got nowhere to go but up.
I think I can pinpoint the transition from good TV to shitty TV: Mr. Rogers's death. RIP, O cardiganed neighbor
My wife watches those. Makes me go back to the lab to continue working on the asteroid attractor ray. "TLC" once meant "The Learning Channel" and it had cool programming. Now it's just another Spike/USA/TNT clone. Feh.
