Why aren't religious people more interested in cosmology?

Try again. We know the end result of what happened. We have theories about what happened and guesses about the how of what happened. It can't be proven without creating the universe, something that is slightly out of our technological grasp.

As it stands now, scientists can give us, the uninitiated layperson, an idea of the what and how, but if one askes for details we get a crapton of math that a handful of people in the world have an inkling of and may or may not be right but which cannot be verified, followed by "best guesses." Compare that to the Bronze age mythology of a handful of annointed ones having access to documentation followed by "God's will." It's not that different.

"One day the Universe just exploded into being for no good reason" isn't any more rational than "God made it" or "Zeus needed a place to score chicks" or "the Turtle had a bellyache".

Well, I like Diacanu. When he's spot on, he's really on, but when he's off, he's just way off.

Ignorance is refusal to evaluate information based on fear of the risk that it must or even just might alter one's worldview. Not having information isn't "ignorant", it's "uninformed."

That's not ignorance. That's willfull ignorance. Ignorance, by definition, really does mean what Diacanu says it means.

Well, I think you are, and here's why.

If you've figured out anything about me at all, it ought to have been that I'm not someone who fucks around.

I don't hold back about politicians, celebrities, corrupted institutions, individual posters who are assholes, shitty movies, shitty books, over-rated talents, heads of state, criminals, badly laid out arguments, you name it.

Not only don't I hold back, I go into it with a fucking slege hammer.
    I slaughter.

SO, if I thought all Christions were stupid, and/or zealots, I would have said so in those exact words.
I would have been out and proud about it.
    I sooo would admit it.
I wouldn't have been cute or sneaky about it.
I don't like cute and sneaky.
    Never have.

You get what comes right out of my head.

Yeah, quote 200 posts, you won't find those words.
And they need to be there.
    If I didn't say it, I didn't say it, and that's that.
    And I didn't say it.

Now, I admit, I don't like organized religion.
    I think it's a hustle.
But I've never blamed the victims, always blamed the hustlers.
    Always will.
And everything here, and on my blog comports with that.
    I stand by it all.
I have no fear of anything anyone could care to quote.

Now, maybe my attitude towards religion, and me telling an indivual poster to go fuck themselves for being a peckerhead has blended together in your head, but when you look at the actual record, it ain't there.

    Sorry, you're wrong.
I know my intent, I know my stances.
I take pains to make them clear.
    I won't have them misrepresented.

yeah,"quasi-intelligent particles" kinda made even less sense after posting.
What I was aiming for was that absent some thing herding matter into organized clusters, that the matter has some "sense" of how to mix itself into more complex stuff.

Chest covered the interpretation pretty well though.

there's a wisecrack to be made about you being out of your head, but it'd take to long to fit without editing.

Well, if there's litarlly nothing I can say or do to defend myself, then it's truly a non-falsifiable proposition.

You said I said things I know I haven't, you've refused to present evidence, and then you act like YOUR a victim of something.
    And you call me dishonest?
    Sorry, doesn't work that way.

I've never put words in your mouth, I expect the same respect.

Yes, we know Garamet Jr....you hide behind the wording and ignoring what you insinuate and imply with every post about religion.

But that doesn't count...that is our fault for "reading into it".

Yeah, yeah, yeah...we know the weaselly drill. :garamet:

    Bullshit, Tamar.

    If I didn't say it, I didn't say it, and that's that.

"Insinutate", and "imply", gets you nowhere.

    Like I said, I don't fuck around.
    I say what I mean.

And cram the "Garamet Jr", shit too.
It's old, and it's always been delusional horseshit pull out of Jamey's hole.
Why you blindly listen to that ugly douche, I don't know.

    Liar.

You posted all your fucking pictures from kindergarten up to your license in the Green Room once...remember?

You can't remember that, but you know for a fact that you never said anything bad about Christians in 7 years. Yeah...right.

Oh..and fuck off with your denials...you molded yourself into a perfect little replica of your hero and her screwy boyfriend and everybody but you can see it. But just like her...you are never wrong it's the hordes of people who try and point it out that are fucked up. :jayzus:

I didn't put words in your mouth. You said this all by your sweet little self:

    http://www.wordforge.net/showpost.php?p=2030114&postcount=3

Also, these words are your own:

    http://www.wordforge.net/showpost.php?p=2025468&postcount=22

    Then there's:

    http://www.wordforge.net/showpost.php?p=2014983&postcount=5

    One more:

    http://www.wordforge.net/showpost.php?p=2000352&postcount=26

Don't play words with me, Diacanu. I wouldn't have said anything unless I had observed that behavior from you. You're so well known for this kind of thing. You talked about looking through 200 posts. It only took a few moments, and it was only a few months ago that you made those posts. What I have posted up to this point is just a small sampling. There is much more.

I'm almost certain I've seen pics of Dicky too - lotta hair in the one I saw, an architects lamp, camera about face-level, he was leaned over - and I'm also almost certain it was in RR, not the blue room or any other room since I'm an infrequent visitor outside of here or Mediaroom.

Ah, so the imbecile thinks he's qualifiesd to comment on my looks in present day, based on how I looked when I was fucking 19?

    Yeah, classy guy.

Well, my point is proven about him being a weasel.

I didn't have to show him shit. I'm sure he saw it then which is how he knows what you look like, Mr. Paranoid.

Although your bizarre notions that people are hacking anywhere just to see a picture of you is pretty funny shit.

Coming in way late, but Rick has no clue about Creationist cosmology. I'm sure most of you don't as most of you don't hold to Creation Science or ID, so you don't follow the papers, books, monographs, etc, that are continually being produced on the subject. I was just reading a recent issue of Acts and Facts (published by ICR) that had a paper on some new ideas about Creationist cosmology.

We are hardly ignoring the issue nor have we been ignoring it.

Since I am a Young Earth Creationist, I actually follow what is going on and have a rather large and growing library on the issue (30 books written by Creation Scientists and IDers at last count) and find the body of literature fascinating. But I don't waste much time arguing about it on WF anymore as there are just too many closed minds on the issue.

You've read the bible cover to cover, you know what's in it.
Old testament, not a teddybear picnic to put it mildly.
    Koran doesn't get much better.

But, most people don't live that way, so....
