I noticed that the host change wiped out all the old file attachments, so I'm going to use this thread to repost the final versions of all the stories I've put up in the Workshop.

Star Trek, The Undiscovered Country, redeux, complete with John M. Ford Klingons:

I can't fnid the file with the short story I submitted for the writing contest a few years ago, but I'll keep an eye out for it. Some of you might remember it: it was the one where the a scientist and her cop husband found the plans for a cheap, easy cold fusion generator whose inventor had been murdered in order to keep the technology supressed.

Think that's it for now. Any other stories I write with the intent of posting here I'll put in this gallery when I have finished versions of them. Probably everyone who was going to read them has already read them, but you never know when new members might be interested. So here they are.

The Buck Rogers story files have been pulled; they are under review and re-edit and will be back up when finished.

It is kind of odd for me: I never watched much of TOS (if any really), but the Shat is who I imagine when I read Kirk. Then when I read everyone else I think of the Nu Trek cast. It is kind of jarring. I haven't gotten to any parts with Spock in them yet, but I'm certain I'll be seeing Nimoy and not Quinto.

I just read the 'TUC' one, and it was quite good. Good story, excellent characterizations (especially Kirk) ... I really like the way you pulled in certain bits of the actual movie, and some stuff from ST IV. I especially liked the Enterprise registry number. I've always hated that A,B,C,etc crap.

The end was far better than Generations, and I thought the changes to the overall story worked better than the original. It's funny, I never noticed the flaws in the movie until I realized what you had changed and saw the why of it.

The only critiques I have were the under-use of Chekov and Uhura, but given their role in the story it seemed necessary, and the bits of that alien language (Klingon I guess) that I didn't quite get the point of. I might have just translated it flat out.

Also, thanks for the into where you tell where your take on Klingons came from. I would have been a little lost if not for that.

    Overall 4.5 out of 5.

I look forward to reading your other stuff here.

Any chance SW ep II is coming down the pike anytime soon? I loved ep I and am lost without II.

Probably not anytime real soon but maybe someday. I hate to admit it but the Clone Wars movie finally snapped my tolerance for George Lucas and threw me into a massive mental SW hiatus.

Head's up: Einar the immortal is set soon to return. A short story called Highlander: Saga's End will be coming down the pike here one of these days. I've written the intro and am slowly getting into it...

FYI, putting stories or novellas or whatever for sale on the kindle is pretty easy (or so I hear) and the money you can make is decent for the length of the stories.

I think everything I've posted here is me playing in someone else's backyard, which means there are copyright issues when it comes to making money and such. Good info, though.

Well, after recently re-watching all six SW movies and replaying X-wing Alliance, Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, and all my associated mods, the SW mental hiatus is winding down. Today I re-wrote my text crawl for Ep II, updated my notes, and began re-working Chapter 1.

Part of my problem with getting going on this was not really knowing where it was going, and how to integrate my characters back into a fun SW style storyline. 90% of that is well solidified now.

It's on. No telling how long it'll take, but when I have a significant enough chunk done, it'll show up here...

Dark Forces story file has been pulled. (It's undergone some serious re-work).

Not only was it shot through with about an order of magnitude more typos and grammatical errors than I normally let through, I've been bringing it in line both with the more traditional SW format (text crawl, etc) and slightly revamping it so it's in line with my version of the PT. It will also be part of a larger series of 'shorts' detailing the DF storyline, from the end of the Clone Wars in EP III up through the events in Dark Forces II JK.

Planned additions to the storyline (in other shorts):

EP III subplot detailing Jerec's early origin and Qu-Rahn's escape from the Jedi Purge.

A short detailing the events surrounding the relationship between Rahn and Morgan Katarn, and the latter's subsequent murder by Jerec and his Dark Jedi. This will also serve to describe Jerec's evolution as a DJ from his more humble origins as a mere lackey of the Emperor.

A short detailing Kyle's rescue of Crix Madine from Orinackra. (One of my favorite DF levels. Not sure what sort of story this will make, but we'll see- it may show up here or not...)

A last short sort of telling the story of JK, but streamlining it and altering it so it doesn't simply read like a walkthrough of the game. Sort of a game to story conversion.

This is all long term planning, of course.
