I bought it years ago pretty much for the sole purpose of having Blu-Ray player. I haven't really kept it up to date or anything. Today I decided I would do a system update just to get it up to speed. I've googled and seen the Playstation Move stuff, I've read something about being able to use it for netflix, what else does it do? I'm sure I'm missing out on some greatness. I have used it as a media server before, I put a bunch of mp3s and a few seasons of some TV shows on it, but I know there has to be more. So one of you guys who has been keeping up please fill me in. Thanks. Oh ya, it's one of the original 60gb PS3's that is backwards compatible with PS2, not sure if that makes any difference or not.
If you have a wi-fi router, it's pretty simple to just hook it up to the internet and it will do an automatic upgrade for you.
Ya that's what I meant when I said in my first post that I did a system update on it tonight. And yes, Robo, I know it plays games. I also signed up for the netflix free trial earlier, before my first post, just fyi.
all i pretty much do with mine is play games on it. got some download add ons for the games. thats about it. not sure why I upgraded mine to 320gb now
George Foreman now or George Foreman in his prime? How impressive that is is completely dependant on which George Foreman it became.
Have you tried signing up for PSN and renting/buying movies over the web? I'm going to rent Scott Pilgrim tonight. I don't know if any movies are in 1080p, but most of them have a 720p option. Very convenient, IMHO.
I've honestly been meaning to upgrade mine because I would like to have a faster hard drive in it and that in itself would be a nice improvement. Plus I actually keep enough information on mine to necessitate a larger hard drive.
I only use mine for gaming, blu ray movies, and playing music saved directly from CDs onto the hard drive.
