You can get a cell phone for free and pay for a 10 dollar pay as you go card. Also no need for a credit check which if you are broke probably means a deposit for the bill before they will give you service.
Moving costs money, too. SO let's say you are underwater on your home in a rural area. You can't just move, you have to sell your home, only there is no one around anymore who wants to buy your home. So you're stuck in that town.
You could work at the local walmart and walk to work, sleep in the parking lot with a blanket, wash in the bathroom, and then walk back on your one day off.
Is this the kind of country you want to live in, one that is racing to the bottom instead of the top? We need more people working high tech jobs, retraining, kids in college, public transport, etc. Not more and more people barely getting by working menial jobs. All so the corporations can maximize profits?

I long to live in libertopia where you get what you deserve through hard work, and you never need any help from anyone. Somehow everyone lives in perfect self containing biodomes. It would be awsome.

Neato, so go with that one. Just be sure to introduce the kids to the word "no" when they whine about the latest iGayphone with optional butt plug attachment.

Put some thought into this kind of shit before it becomes an emergency. Assume it's going to happen and plan for it. Do not live paycheck-to-paycheck with no cushion, gambling on ideal circumstances lasting forever.

There you go. That would surely suck badly enough for you to do absolutely everything possible to improve your lot.

The kind of country I want to live in is not an option on the table. Far too many generations have been raised with an inadequate sense of personal responsibility and minding your own fucking business to go back now.

This didn't happen without the implicit consent of the masses. They're mostly just conditioned to look to the government to forcibly engineer the conditions they desire, rather than organizing voluntarily and exerting pressure on their own, because, you know, that implies effort.

    Perpetuating falsehoods.

Look at the bright side: Gas prices may still be on the rise, but at least the stock market is back below 12,000! :marathon:

the closer rentals are to the jobs, the higher the rent. the cheapest places ARE cheap largely BECAUSE they are inconveniently located.

Well, that's nice. The article was about the US, as was my statement.

Yeah, pretty sure. Context is important. The writer of that article is wrong.

Doesn't seem so. The Japanese went balls to the wall Keynesian twenty years ago. Aint done shit for them.

And your statement is lacking context.

    No he's right.

I've managed people, Kirkie. Of course, given your extremely unbalanced behavior, you'll understand my reluctance to share personal information with you.

It is not. It is a direct response to an article where the writer is talking about the US and alleged application of Keynesianism there. Now, unless you've got some examples of Keynesian policies in the US...

But, you haven't owned a business, or been responsible for having to balance a budget, or for that matter turn a profit.

You really are the last one to be lecturing anyone about balanced behavior. Especially given your rather one sided views on life.

How do you know any of those things?

What's to talk about? Is there a point of disagreement?

Simple that is based off your attitudes and opinions. You demonstrate a man that is ignorant of how things like owning a business and having to turn a profit work. Otherwise you are simply one really stupid, mother fucker, when it comes to those types of things. Which is Prick?

No, Prick it is rather clear you haven't. Your statements demonstrate that you know jack shit about owning, or operating a business.

Re: CBS: Unemployment worse that during Depresion

thats just like 4 years ago when I was between jobs and had to take a job pumping gas at a local gas station.. My neighbor was also unemployed and we were gonna hire another attendant..So I walk over there and tell him he can get a job at the the gas station. He told me the job was beneath him, that he felt he was too good to pump gas.. I told him I hoped he starved to death and not to come to me for anymore favors. You talking about pissing somebody off
