Post baby weight They say the only way to truely lose every bit of it is to cardio and weight lift within 6 weeks of delivery.....but, than the docs tell you no lifting or intense activities for 3 months Oh, and to continue my rant this whole "eat a extra 400 calories a day" because feeding burns 300-600 cals is bullshit!!!! Its way to hard to eat that much! The only way I met my calorie intact prior to being pregnant was drinking beer and cant do that now lol
Breastfeeding was the only thing that kept me from ballooning up after my second son was born. My suggestion, instead of weight lifting, try Curves instead - if you can fit into their schedule. Their machines are made for women, they target areas women want to tone - and they're all hydraulic - which means, the more effort you push, the more resistance you get. No more trying to figure out how much weight to put on for each machine. And, the machines are made to tone, not build muscle.
Curves was a option because of there location, I'm just so random in what I want to accomplish in each day. So I need my gym with a track, pool, workout, and weights. But I really dont see the BF helping as much as it says :/ does it really burn that much?
I don't know how much it burns. I didn't think it helped either, because my weight didn't go back down to pre-pregnancy weight. But, when I stopped breastfeeding I gained 10 pounds. Swimming is good tho. Last summer, I spent nearly every day in the pool and lost 20 pounds. Because of my schedule and now that I'm walking to work, Curves isn't working out well for me. So, I may have to find a gym with an indoor pool so I can swim in the winter, too.
I know an old guy (70 I think) who swims laps all the time. It sure keeps him thin, fit and healthy - and mentally sharp as a tack.
Swimming is definitely number one! It's the only thing that engages all muscles at ounce with resistants
I don't know. I know what I weighed May 1st (the company I work for has an annual month long exercise deal) and I know what I weighed Aug 30 when I began at Curves. Didn't lose much during the month long exercise thing and the only exercise I got that summer was swimming.
