I guess after observing an unidentified person entering a school with a package and leaving without one, the school was right to act as they did. Must be a real bitch for couriers to deliver things there. Those charges are epically ridiculous though. I'm surprised they didn't charge him with sexual harassment too.
Utterly absurd. The prosecutor should do the world a favor and kill himself out of shame for pressing felony charges.
Poor kid. I understand the school's suspicion and caution, but that's where it ends. There is nothing worse than an overzealous prosecutor. As far as I'm concerned, this is a school disciplinary matter.
So if it turned out to be a bomb, none of you would sue the school for any injuries sustained by your child, right? I agree, it's overzealous applicaton of the law, but I blame litigation-happy parents.
Exactly which part of his actions warrant felony charges? This seems pretty farfetched. Why? How does that necessitate this boy's actions to be charged as a felony?
I made that abundantly clear in my first post. They didn't know what it was, and if it had turned out to be a bomb, the aftermath would've been a race to the civil courts.
You do realise if he's convicted he will lose the vote, lose second amendment rights, lose the ability to be hired in a whole slew of jobs and find employers unwilling to hire him for other jobs, for the rest of his life, right? I have to imagine you do know this, but you just don't care. You fucking piece of shit.
Oh, I do care. And I'd be willing to correct it in exchange for lawsuit-happy parents surrendering the option to turn a tragedy into a lottery ticket at the taxpayers' expense.
You're still being flippant. You're perfectly content to watch a kid who has not committed any crime per the writ of any decent man, nonetheless judged and called a criminal and locked up as though he were a criminal and deprived of rights like a criminal. You would rather see his life ruined for nothing, than see parents be able to sue over... whatever. Maybe he'll get aids when they arsefuck him in the big house. But hey, better to nail a kid to the wall for nothing than present an opportunity for a frivolous lawsuit.
What does one have to with the other? I don't think anyone here has a problem with calling in the bomb squad. Some suspicious person leaves an unknown package in a sensitive area by all means check it out, not just to cover your ass litigation wise but for the safety of everyone involved. However once you discover it's nothing more than a high school prank you don't turn around and charge the poor kid with a felony. That's the part everyone has a problem with. At most fine him for wasting police resources but don't slap a felony charge on him. That's just ridiculous.
Why does this not surprise me that this happened only minutes from where I grew up? The only reason this is going on is because the prosecutor couldn't come up with anything else more entertaining to do, I mean he lives in Indiana where there is NOTHING to do. ....besides farm, fuck, and get fucked up. And now you can add ridiculous criminal charges for pranks to that list.
