DAMN! I just got a new ink cartridge at "Ink World" or whatever a few miles away. My printer is saying "no ink in your original Lexmark cartridge". YES I HAVE INK - I JUST BOUGHT IT!!! My printer/scanner is a LexMark X2580 if that helps. The ink cartridge is a refurbished guaranteed replacement - so WTF? Yes, I have the receipt. 99 percent sure I'm doing something wrong, since I go "full retard" dealing with computers. HELP!!!!
The printers all have software in them to detect if you're using a new or refilled cartridge. If you've got a refill job, then it'll reject it for "safety" reasons. I switched to a laserjet printer years ago because of things like this.
Yes, my kids still print things for school assignments. Anyway I got it to print, but so far only the test page as part of the set-up. Meanwhile the computer makes it quite apparent (several times in different ways) that I need to order a new official Lexmark ink cartridge.
