    I've got 140,000 in loans. However, since I work in mental health in a high risk community, I pay based on my income (which is paltry at the moment) and in 10 years if I stay in a non profit, whatever I haven't paid off gets forgiven. I can still work on the side in private practice. Cash/check payments only please.
    EDIT: Oh and my debt could have been far more. However I worked to pay most of my living expenses.

    I'm in the same boat. Works out to about 650 a month. It's a real kick in the ass.

    About £11,000 GBP here. Not bad given that UK students next year could spend 90% of that in one year's tutition. And i thought I was unlucky at the time in not getting a grant!
