Santorum promises 'vigorous' war on pornography if elected.

Santorum says in a statement posted to his website, “The Obama Administration has turned a blind eye to those who wish to preserve our culture from the scourge of pornography and has refused to enforce obscenity laws.”

If elected, he promises to “vigorously” enforce laws that “prohibit distribution of hardcore (obscene) pornography on the Internet, on cable/satellite TV, on hotel/motel TV, in retail shops and through the mail or by common carrier.”

Sadly, there are a lot of sanctimonious fucknuts out there who think it is a perfectly justified use of government resources to try and prevent other people from doing things they don't like, even in the privacy of their own homes.

As much as I believe Barack Obama is the worst president this country has endured in the past 100 years, I will not vote at all if Santorum wins the GOP nomination. Hopefully there will still be time to undo the damage come 2016.

I do not understand why the GOP brass hasn't grabbed this frothy assclown and beat the shit out of him. Instead, they seem to be embracing this crap. He was the first one to bleat about how horrible birth control is, and suddenly, the Republican members of Congress have to have all kinds of hearings about how awful it is, and various states have to get in on the action as well.

There is nothing defensible about many of the things Santorum says. Nothing. And if, like the Republicans claim to be, you're in favor of smaller government, then Santorum should be the motherfucking poster child of everything that is wrong about "big government." Instead, he's practically the fucking darling of the GOP brass.

Sidenote: Augusta spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in a long legal war to shut down a porn store. In the end, they lost, and the XMart (a slick takeoff of KMart) flies a big ass American flag on their successful porn store. Sunday alcohol sales are on the upswing, too. Gay Pride parades draw only a handful of protesters. KKK speeches draw no fans, but lots of protesters and jeering and laughing.

There was a huge uproar here over Sunday sales. People (nut bags and bible thumpers) were crying out that everyone was going to get drunk and get behind the wheel killing scores of people. And that people were going to flock to liquor stores to buy alcohol.

The bible thumpers of course jumped on it saying that it was going to lead to debauchery, that family values were going out the window and that it would lead to adultery (???).

And it took almost 8 years for an adult toy store to open up. Of course that had the same arguments against it. But some of the same people (women) had intimate adult sales parties, but called them something like "Marriage Enhancement Parties".

True, but for a GOP candidate to win an election, he has to carry at least two of the following three states based on the current electoral count. Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida. If he or she cannot take at least two of those, it's game over, and I don't see Santorum carrying any of them. It's not because the GOP in those states are fond of Obama, but because a sufficient amount are grounded enough to pull "my father's reaction" who said (and I quote), "fuck it, if that little prick [Santorum] or the Republican Kerry [Romney] who I can't gauge where he truly stands... If either wins the nomination, I'm not even voting. This is a fucking JOKE. This is at least five times as bad as the last election!!!" Me: "Well dad, you can always write someone in and say you voted." Dad: "WTH for? Why should I waste my time going out to vote for some other person. I'm just gonna come home, drink a beer, go to bed and read all about what happened in the next morning's paper."

There was an interesting article during the Bush administration about how Ashcroft's zeal for prosecuting consenting adults who offended his morals also ended up resulting in a reduction of the resources devoted to fighting child pornography.

Before the guys passed the amendment to keep us all sober (snicker) there was some mob crime, but nothing as organized as it got after Prohibition. I agree that porn should not be readily available to kids - especially without adult supervision - but each person has to answer for their own vices.
