TK does have a pretty decent arcade though.

TK's biggest problem and possibly ours to a lesser extent is that there is a real lack of drama. People swear up and down they don't want that shit going down but if you analyze incidents, those are the times that people come back, post more and just generally participate on a larger scale. I don't know if it's just the kind of folks on this end of the internet or what, but sans a revolution, embarrassing personal issues or jack-booted thugs running a site, you just watch a place slow right down.

We're lucky we have as many active people interested in discussion that are loyal that we do have. We really do need some new blood, but this site has a vibe to it that it seems to take a particular type of person to really appreciate.

Aw Hell, here's my 2 cents: For the last Exodus/boycott, MM was very helpful to us and I was grateful. And even if the move didn't last, it seemed useful to have an alternative handy, so I made an effort to keep posting there, but two things drove me away:

1) Fucking with rep. I don't mean rep wars or anything. I mean if it amused the admins they'd just change your rep. Yeah, maybe rep is just a game, but a game without rules is meaningless and stupid.

2) The place was largely dead. Dead as shit. There'd be years old posts on the front page. And if you made an effort to generate any content you were mocked & ridiculed. Pretty much meant there was no reason whatsoever to go there.

Regarding point two: A few of us there (myself included) would go back through our rep comments and necro those old threads back to the top, especially with duals as the main account(s) generated too many rep points to pull the trick.

Hell, I remember one time Conchaga going back to the last page of Speak Freely and bumping every. last. thread. back to the top.

Simple solution: get rid of the personal info rule. That would generate much more and better drama, not to mention it'd be a barrel of laughs!
