I found myself falling into that trap last year on this fucking ship. In the military, and the Navy in particular, the lines between work and social life gets blurred considerably, since most of the military is under 25 and out to drink and fuck. The five percent of folks that do neither go to the other extreme of staying in the fucking barracks all weekend, so it's pretty difficult for me to find anyone to do actual shit with.

I finally just gave up on socializing with these morons, period. And whaddya know, my moods have improved by an order of magnitude. :techman:

you are basically a cliche there Al.. your pint by point response clearly demonstrate you are threatened in your role.. thus the false bravado

you are not in management.. obviously.. so is your insecurity and uber-machismo a result of being the underling? just asking

You have no grasp of how to succeed in what you do.. go for the paycheck then get out.. your cubicle will be filled before your ass heat is out of office chair..

this not liking people schtick is old and silly..

if you really were "that guy" you wouldn't be the "wanna be renegade" you would be "livin it"

and by the way.. where do you warrant respect?

Bluff and bluster is a shallow attribute

    Oh, and this shit...

    Ownership?!?!

Maybe if you're the guy that invented the Freddy makeup, or someone like that...you're literally a part of a creative thing...but if you're a monkey that puts widgets on a shelf, or runs the fucking meat slicer??
    Get over yourself!

See, this is the last 20 years of human resources bullshit.
This whole fake language has been invented for insecure people to pat themselves on the back for pride they didn't fucking earn.

    It's a sick joke, and I won't participate.
If someone tries to raise my esteem with that phony shit, I won't just resist, I'll OPPOSE.

you continue to demonstrate your lack of basically any understanding.. I do not put widgets on any thing and when you grow up and your job does not include wiping off the counter and cleaning urinals .. I could train you .. but you lack people skills boy..

Hell boy my resume impresses me.

fake language... you are spouting stupidity and it shows... just because you are a phony.. don't paint everyone like that..

you obviously don't participate... you are along for the ride.. you should thank us that do participate and give you the privilage of your "assholeness"

and as far as earning the right.. I got it

sometimes those sophisticated degrees lack a role in what is needed now. Best of luck to you. I hope you realize a career that meets your needs.

The real need showing up now is the "skilled trades" if you don't have welders, plumbers, mill wrights, carpenters, plumbers, surveyors.. you got no infrastructure.. means you ain't got nuttin'

Maybe I should have said unappreciated, that would be a little more accurate. Most management types think that there isn't anything to Accounting and have little respect for those of us in the field.

    Please. :dayton:

You sound like one of those "employee self-esteem" types.

No, that would be another bitchy little dig from someone who thinks his feelings should be a priority for his coworkers.

Incorrect. I succeed at my job every day. Popularity is not an element of success in my duties.

Good thing I don't give a fuck about what you find fresh and entertaining, then.

See, that's a good summary of your disease, right there. You don't get to decide whether you warrant other peoples' respect.

    I never spoke about popularity..

no one said anything about bitchy little things... are you a teenage girl?

What you don't give a fuck about is so completely irrelevant as you only can speak from the "I'm a bad ass and I don't give a fuck mode"

that in in itself exposes your your low self esteem..

and what I sound like, you interpret (make up) .. is so you can carry on with your scripted nonsense.. cause you have no other line

you are so obvious.. that there is no discourse with you .. just your bluff and blunder bull shit..

and you being the mentor for "no-dickey" doesn't bode well for the boy

You're an idiot. Here are some rules to live by:

    1. Find a job that doesn't feel like work or that you enjoy and get satisfaction from.

    2. Usually this is part of number one, but find a job where you like the people you work with. If you don't like people find a job that doesn't have you working with others.

    3. No jobs where you are? Move, dumbass.

The only reason to temporarily not be living by those 3 rules is to continue earning money while you find a job that satisfies those 3 rules. Everyone has a price and for enough money I'll go work somewhere I hate again but my price to do that is so high that I won't likely find myself in that situation.

You only live once so why would you spend 5 days a week and 8+ hours of the day doing something you hate? That's just fucking stupid. You're not materialistic. Pay off your bills and then just find a job that you don't hate and live within the means provided by that job.

I worked a job that I hated for a very brief time right out of college (about 3 months of 60+ hours a week). I learned those rules as soon as I got my next job (30 hours a week for the same salary) and loved what I was doing for and equally little amount of pay. I said then that I would never go back and I've stuck to it. 6 years later I'm very good at what I do and my paycheck has grown with my experience.

Just follow those rules. It is that simple.

Poor UA. Haven't you ever worked a job that you could truly enjoy from time to time? I complain about my job being a rollercoaster but at least I can have an entire week that flies by because it's so much fun. (Granted, weeks like this one can rot in hell, but the point is it's actually possible to be happy at work).

Not really, no. The high water mark so far is not wanting to actually murder someone every second of every day.

:dayton: The two aren't mutually exclusive.

You enjoy being a miserable cunt so much that it is where you derive your pleasure from. I think you actually love your misery so much that you have no desire to change. But projecting your retarded mindset on the rest of us as though we are the ones with the problem is what makes you such a douche. If you don't want to be happy most of us don't give a damn, when you preach to everyone about their needing to "grow the fuck up" just because they find enjoyment in their lives it just makes you look more pathetic. But since that seems to make you happy I say live and let live. Enjoy your pain, Worf.
