So, the time for Sam and I is cutting closer and closer. In the mean time, we're working on content. Feel free to view and share. Lately we've been doing new movie reviews. I'm actually in this one...I'm sure you guys will enjoy that. lol. But views actually make us money, so you will also be contributing to our move. http://www.gonzopolis.com/4/post/2012/08/hetero-movie-date-moonrise-kingdom.html
Interesting. If you are going to be in future productions I would suggest getting a cheap mic(s), I can barely hear you back there.
We talked about that. I just need to speak up. hah. This isn't going to be something I'm in all the time. And it's more of a simple side thing. Sam has larger projects he's going to be putting out here soon and he has a mic, lighting, etc etc.
Because of the guerrilla nature of Hetero Movie Date, we're very limited on what we can work with. We don't use our good camera for it because I refuse to leave a grand worth of setup in a hot car alone in the parking lot for 3+ hours. We use the on-board mic because whilst I have an excellent condenser mic, it's USB, so we would need to bring even more equipment than we would with just the new camera. If anything, I'm trying to get away from what most "YouTubers" do. This format actually works and it's similar to what a lot of the already existing major internet webshow audience (non-YouTube, of course) is already accustomed to. To be honest with you, after just two dinky episodes, I'm surprised I've received such positive feedback already with as little advertising effort put into it. Just wait, though. Your precious production value will upgrade within more worthy projects. Anyway, thanks for watching. Gonzopolis may seem like a tiny project at the moment, but there's a lot of future content that's currently in production. We hope to improve on our establishment and we hope you will help us spread the word as we grow.
Yes, yes, I heard what you said about production values in the video. The setup is good enough for the two of you but if you want to have Bunnie in future videos you need a way to get a mic back to her, have her sit up front, whatever. It detracts from the review to constantly be trying to figure out what she said there in the back.
Are you worried about heat, or theft? If the latter, do you have a trunk? Thieves can't steal what they can't see. As for the former, during the summers here I leave a camera that costs as much as a brand new car in my vehicle every single day. Well over a hundred degrees most of the time.
It's a bit of both, but as far as the burglary is concerned, I'm not taking my chances. With all due respect, you don't live where we live and you don't know the people we know. My car has been vandalized a few times since I've lived here. Perhaps once we're moved, things will change.
Just a random observation, but you guys need to "aaahh" a lot less when you're talking. Unscripted is fine, but sometimes it sounds like you're completely unprepared.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the advice. We will do whatever we can to make it better. It's also nice having someone like shootER chiming in. I had the opportunity to shoot Tennessee Mornings for Nashville's Fox 17, but I declined. It's been ages since I've worked with high-end studio equipment. For now, it's all about doing as much as we can with what little we have. Our D3200 should provide some excellent video for our other projects. New episode hits Sunday. We'll be going to The Expendables 2 tomorrow. And yes, I'm super pumped to see this shlockfest, so this next "review" should be much more energetic.
Not sure how this forum feels about posting seemingly "spam" threads, so I'll just post the new review in this same thread. Hetero Movie Date - The Expendables 2
