Bad enough to be walking around in downtown Savannah at midnight (first mistake) but egging blacks on (dating one of their race) is really pushing the envelope. If they've ever done this in the past, it was only a matter of time before this happened. And talking to witnesses? "No snitch" laws will put the kaibosh on that being effective. Grainy surveillance? Par for the course - those are just a CYA thing anyway. Nobody puts the effort or expense into quality recordings that actually positively identify anyone. The guy is lucky they didn't really fuck him up. He needs to work on his "street smarts" a bit more.
That's not a hate crime it's only a hate crime if the victim is Black and the attacker is a White guy.
If they don't get a positive ID on the suspects it won't be any type of "crime." I'd say it's about 50-50 they find out who did it. Most likely one of the three will spill the beans and it ends up on Facebook or something, giving the police something to go on. But I salute the bravery of the three assailants. Normally cowards won't attack an able-bodied male without at least a 5 to 1 advantage, and they did it with only 3. Whatever, statistically at least one of these thugs will end up dead or in prison within a few years, so that's some consolation.

That's because there is no such thing as a hate crime. There's just crime. Adding "hate" in front of it is politics, nothing more.

In theory. But it's much harder to tack on the "hate" part when the crime is against a white. And in black majority Savannah Georgia that makes it that much harder. Everyone here in Georgia knows the score and accepts it - what can you do? Well for one thing, avoid downtown if you're white, unless you're in a large group. That goes for any Southern city really.
So let that be a lesson to you! Seriously, every time I hear that argument, I think of that old Tim Allen routine: "Men are pigs, aren't they?...Too bad we own everything - HAHAHA!" Ask yourself who has the power in a country. Then ask yourself why a gang of 'em would take it upon themselves to beat the shit out of one person.
