I predict massive exaggeration of minute differences, the moderator completely ignoring Obama's extrajudicial murder, and Romney saying something stupid. Is anyone actually going to watch?
They'll both lie, but Obama will lie about ten times more often causing Romney to implode, but not fatally.
Oh here we go...why Romney wants to repeal Obamacare. Please god, Obama, slam him on this pathetic flip-flop.
Yes, you never get anything of value out of these "debates"; all the topics and questions were all given to both sides weeks ago so all you get is pre-written canned responses.
Romney is hedging everything he says, and lying about half. Obama's lying about half, but at least his opinions aren't hedged. (note: I wasn't listening during the Medicare bits)
Must say I can't say this came across to me as a "win" by Romney; neither side really appeared to have a clear advantage, it was rather boring. I'm hoping for a better debate next time. The VP debate should be funny, if nothing else.
It was boring. Here's my problem w/ debates. Everyone already knows who they're voting for. The undecideds - too stupid to deserve the right to vote. It's been 4 years since Romney's been running against Obama. So who would this boring piece of shit be talking to? The undecideds who aren't voting anyway? The one or two undecided political junkies? Do such people exist?
Romney won from the perspective of theatricality. He came in with a clear agenda to be aggressive and to try and bully Obama, and he largely succeeded. It won't matter that every word that came from Romney's mouth was totally disingenuous, and that all he's peddling is the same old trickle-down economics that have repeatedly failed for decades. Never underestimate the public's willingness to vote against their own economic interests. The whole idea that if you just help the douchebag CEO of your company (oh, sorry, the heroic job-creator) get richer so he can take more vacations to the Bahamas, and by doing so maybe the guy who's sitting in the windowless cubicle making $35,000/year and who's had his pay frozen for the past 5 years, that he might get tossed a few more table scraps is laughable. But Republicans have sold a lot of people on it. And Romney succeeding in taking the high ground on the evils of partisan politics? Obama should be chastised for getting health care passed without bipartisan support when the Republicans had a strategy of obstructionism from the very beginning and would have never agreed to anything no matter the proposal? Obama should have smeared his face in that shit all night long. And when Obama briefly mentioned the more "radical" elements of the Republican party? Why didn't he get specific and challenge Romney right then and there to repudiate the entire birther idiocy? A night full of missed opportunities for Obama.
Look, everyone already knows the contrast. The Republican party is the darling of Big Business, rich CEO's, the 1%, the tiny elite who live inside their castles fearing the unwashed masses that have become increasingly dissatisfied with what they've been told is their proper lot in life. The Democrats are the party more concerned with everyone else and the health of the nation as a whole, not just the Martha's Vineyard set.
MY SIDE IS THE SAVIOR OF THE WERLD!!!! YOUR SIDE IS TEH EVILEST DARTH VADERR EVER!!!!!!! Everbody sounds like idiots to me.
I got an email from an ultra-lib friend this morning who said old people like his mother will die left and right under Romney's health plan. Wait, I thought it was Obaba's plan that had "death panels" for old people!? Even Ryan said he was worried about his mother. So both sides are using "TEH OTHER SIDE IS GONNA KILL MY MOMMY ". WTF is wrong with everybody? Now we're using our mothers lives as political tennis balls? It gets worse and worse.
