Canada is one of if not our most loyal allies. Her brave sons and daughters have been fighting and dying alongside our troops in Afghanistan since almost day one. Any reference to Canada as America's hat and Canadians as America's head lice are completely out of line. [YT="A song of tribute to Canada you sexy thing you."]HgKwPrm7DYQ[/YT]
Due to Canada being much smaller population wise I would say they have a stronger cohesive national identity than the USA.
Wasn't New Zealand originally supposed to be part of Australia before those damned irredentist Kiwis decided to take a walk?
Meant to is a strong way of putting it. New Zealand participated in the discussions on Federation, but decided against joining. We have strong ties though and citizens of Aus and NZ can move back and forth and live and work permanently in either country without needing a visa.
I thought NZ used to officially be part of New South Wales back in the 19th century. Or at least governed from NSW.
aren't nearly as interested in separation as Maud or Marso... And yeah, Montreal's bagel beats New York's, although I'd suggest it's the quality of the cream cheese.
There are now over 1 million Kiwi immigrants in Australia, so there's plenty of internationalism between the two countries.
