http://www.salon.com/2012/10/27/the_progressive_case_against_obama/ Fabulous article. I expect it to be completely ignored by the dumbass Obama supporters.
Too bad you weren't progressive enough to post it when it first appeared 10 days ago. Not gonna have much impact halfway through Election Day.
You should've posted this anywhere from October 27th to yesterday if you really fucking cared enough. Most of us have voted by now.
Meh. There are lots of valid criticisms of Obama from the left. That's nothing new or interesting. That's also not a reason to implicitly or explicity support Romney. Obama's pretty bad from the progressive point of view; Romney's far worse. Numbnuts who want to throw the election to Romney in a fit of pique certainly should be ignored.
By and large, not doing the things listed in the second quoted paragraph works in his favor for me. Less so his advocacy of then in the first place.
It could have been plastered all over the news 10 days ago, or even a month ago, and the dumbass Obama supporters would still ignore it. It is interesting how y'all justify supporting him though.
No one's justifying anything. Though you'll spend a lot of time trying to deflect from the pointlessness of posting this when the election's half over.
How is it pointless? He would win regardless of whether or not anyone on WF would change their mind. I posted it to point out what you will be dealing with the next 4 years. But hey, keep burying your head in the sand.
Well you would prefer not to have an article detailing what Obama has done over the past 4 years so you know what will happen in the next 4 because you like sticking your head in the sand and ignoring the issues.
I actually read that article late last month and it was one of the reasons I decided not to vote for Obama.
There are plenty of folks on the left that have been criticizing Obama for years. You're just ignoring them because they don't fit the "Obamessiah" meme.
I don't think you can safely say that the majority of Americans make realistic and calculated 'adult' choices.
Compromise a different way of saying 'yay, I voted for less freedom?' Because that is what you voted for.
No, actually, that's not what I voted for. You are a zealot, similar to the school yard kid who flips out that he has to share the swing. Can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you just might get what you need. Can't win all the marbles So just take your ball and go home? Or maybe, do the adult thing, and understand you aren't the only man in the room.
Almost time for bed, but after 50 years of destructive policies by both the Democrats and Republicans, I find it hilarious when someone tries to justify a vote for either of them. Cheerio.
In Canada, we have 4 or 5 parties (I count the Bloc as a sub-human party) you can vote for that more accurately represents your values and beliefs. This is why Canada, and by extension, Canadians, are superior to Americans.
Is it really? Or is it more of a case of just voting for the guy with a D after their name. Think about it, he's taken the Bush shitting on the Constitution thing to a whole new level. His absolute disregard for civil liberties far out paces Bush. This is the guy who has no problem assassinating citizens with out even a hint of due process. This is the guy who promised transparency yet has had more stuff classified than the shrub ever thought of. The same guy who swore,as a constitutional scholar, that he would put an end to the prior administration's abuses. His record on warrantless wiretaps and invasions of privacy is abysmal. All of this Bush was rightly pillored for but yet he gets a free pass apparently. These were core issues of his. So you have a guy who continue ues those policies and it is now seen as a compromise? What is being given in return?
Who is Obama "compromising" with when he signs executive kill lists? I hope for a more progressive second term, but I don't expect it.
