Two stories came across my radar that I haven't seen any discussion of. First up: a woman who tweeted she was going to move to Australia because their president was a Christian who did what he said. Only a) Australia has a prime minister, rather than a president, b) the current Australian prime minister is a she and c) the current Australian prime minister is an atheist. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/...3160.html?utm_hp_ref=fb&src=sp&comm_ref=false Second up: another woman who posted to Facebook about Obama's election using a racial slur and saying "maybe he will be assassinated" has lost her job at a Coldstone Creamery because of it and is apparently being investigated by the Secret Service. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lan...-over-obama-facebook-post-i-am-not-racist.htm There are probably more tales of crazy/stupid out there.
If you want to see some amazing butthurt, go to twitter and search for the hashtag #tcot. Great stuff.
Seems to be a lot of thinly-veiled threats about revolution. Others talking about boycotts and voter fraud, even recounts in Ohio.
I'd be a poor Facebook friend if I went around splashing their comments on other media sites for the world to ridicule.
You don't have to give names or links. You could just say the nature of the comment or quote it. There's no doubt in my mind that people all across the political spectrum say some dumb things. I do doubt that there are many that are the equivalent of these, though.
Ohio is the only state that Obama won the white male vote.... along with other major demographic votes. I also read somewhere that there were entire major metropolitan areas such as Cleveland and Philadelphia where Romney literally got zero votes. That's just amazing to me. http://politicalwire.com/archives/2...campaign=Feed: PoliticalWire (Political Wire)
To be clear, it would be precincts within such major metropolitan areas where Romney got shut out. It would be highly improbable for not a single person to have voted for Romney in a geographical area with like 50,000+ voters. But I could definitely see that there might be precincts where either Romney or Obama literally got no votes depending on their size and demographics.
Take any slice of society--even college professors and Nobel laureates--and look hard enough...you'll find stupidity. If you think there isn't a "dumb Democrat" story to match every "dumb Republican" story, you're fooling yourself.
Let's see the Ohio sec of state's results because I doubt there really are counties without a single Romney vote.
Apparently conservatives have started unliking Romney on Facebook. http://www.slate.com/blogs/future_t...cebook_page_is_losing_fans_by_the_minute.html Reminds me of the old saying that if you want a friend in Washington, buy a dog. As the article points out, someone has set up a website tracking how fast FB people are dropping Romney: http://disappearingromney.com/
