The sheer mechanics of it are mind boggling.

That's something I'll never understand. Not just walking in the dark with black clothes, but being black and walking in the dark with dark clothes. Last week I nearly killed a black guy with my car because HE WAS INVISIBLE IN THE DARK.

No kidding, I've had a few close calls around here. One dipfuck was wearing all black, the only white on him had to be his teeth and eyes. Didn't see him until I was right on top him. And the dumb fuck thought walking in the actual lane was a good idea.

And just last week had one wearing almost all black, missed that tardfuck by less than two feet.

Fuckers should at least smile or something.

There are street lights in the subdivisions, but not on many of the public roads. There's some by a few of the busier commercial areas, and there is an area that has shopping/eating/business strips for about a mile. But most of the roads around here are pretty dark.
You'd need something the size of a dump truck to even budge her.

Exactly! They only have streetlights and crosswalks where pedestrians are common. If a road is mostly vehicle traffic, it's not cost effective for street lights, traffic lights, etc. So if you are unlucky enough to be taking the shoe-leather express, there might not be a lit crosswalk or a sidewalk for hundreds of yards, or possibly miles, yet there are thousands of people living in subdivisions adjacent to main roads. Factor in cars are going minimum of 55 MPH around blind corners and hills - it's a recipe for disaster.

actually, i think the best surgery ever would be to remove all the excess skin after people lose a bunch of weight. can you imagine that chick and her saint of a husband fucking until she's down to a reasonable weight and how much skin would be leftover? i think it sounds really satisfying to get to chop it all off. :calli:  i am a bit strange.

If it's done right, do you think would it be possible to tan her skin after it's cut off and make his and her 'leather' jackets out of her skin?

Weird. They have street lights just about every where here unless you're way outside the city limits but even then the county puts them in if it is a reasonably busy road.

The road leading out of my subdivision is dark. A neighborhood with $700,000 houses across the street shares the road out. No lights! Next to a Lowe's and a college, no less!

In the Augusta metropolitan area (population 250K or so, the second largest such area in Georgia behind Atlanta) only about 20 percent is within "city limits"- the rest is suburbs/subdivisions.

Talkahuno has it about right. McMansions a plenty (whole subdivisions of em') have to dart out into traffic moving 55 MPH because there's no traffic signals, just a stop sign. BTW there's only one way in/out, so you can't take a back street.

Dangerous? My subdivision is blessed with two choices in and out. One gets several serious wrecks a month, the other maybe one or two.

My nearest neighbor is 15 feet away. The nearest store is two miles.

When I was in Atlanta about a decade back visiting my aunt who lived there at the time (she has since retired from Coke and moved back to CA for her retirement) I was shocked to find they had water rationing in place. Apparently no one wanted to pay to have reservoirs built thus when ever there was even a short dry spell this massive city became short on water. Out west water is a big concern for people and always has been thus you're always seeing people pushing for more reservoirs or aqueducts even if it means raising taxes to pay for it. Water is life and making sure people have enough of it is considered a vital government function.

Even in a big city like Atlanta though no one wanted to pay for such projects even if it meant they had to endure water rationing periodically. It's a totally different outlook.

Of course it also cuts the other way too. Just last year, after a four year drought and with courts requiring California to take both a smaller share of the Colorado River water as well as less water from the California Delta we still had problems. The city pushed up water rates "to encourage people to conserve" but then when people conserved to much they declared they weren't making enough to pay the bills and pushed the rates up again. :rantmode:

You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't some times.
