I was keeping my 9-year-old Dell just because I like the speakers and used it for ITunes.

It died a few days ago.

So for the hell of it I tried to attach the computer speakers to my TV. The only audio adjustment is Output Type, then Dolby Digital On, Dolby Digital Off, and I tried the different Audio ports on the TV. Nothing worked. I assume the speakers and the TV can't communicate with each other.

Then I went online. Apparently people get RCA external speakers for the Samsung TV I have.

Before I go to J&R and get the wrong thing, any advice on what speakers to get?

    It's a Samsung Series 4, 450 LCD TV.

    Thanks!!

Oh PS, I use a MacBook Air for everything now, that's why I didn't really care when the Dell died.

I guess I could stream from the laptop to the TV to access ITunes... but still need the speakers

So ... I attach my laptop to the TV with this cable?

The white and red match inputs on the TV. But the black part have a counterpart on my laptop. I

Is there another adaptor that bridges the two?

Please speak slowly and use simple words.

And thanks! I miss my music today a lot... freakin' snowed in. Listening to IPod.

The speakers from your PC should have plugged into the PC via a male 3.5 jack (headphone jack). Use the adaptor I posted to use your computer speakers on your TV.
