I guess its about time I start this thread. This game was announced about a year ago, IIRC and I remember being annoyed as hell that Irrational Games would tease a highly anticipated game like this 2 years before anyone would get a chance to play it.... but they did and I've done a reasonably good job of keeping my enthusiasm for this game in check. There is a 15 minute trailer shown at E3this summer that normally would've caused me to spazz, but I just chilled through it all. Well, 2012 is almost here and I'm going to allow myself to get excited now.

Spike TV VGA's air tommorrow night and it promised us a new trailer for Bioshock Infinite and I hope they will finally give us a release date... 1st half of 2012?

Well here is Bioshock Infinite's debut trailer:

What do you think? Are you excited too?

A little background information on the Bioshock franchise...

In Bioshock Infinite, things have changed. It is now 1912. A group of idealist have taken to the skies and built cities on large floatations devices to segregate themselves from society. It seems there are groups of very passionate people regarding their politics. Some of these people have powers too. A young lady by the name of Elizabeth was abducted from the surface years ago. She was said to have telekinetic powers. Her family hires you, Booker DeWitt to retrieve her. A powerful entity known as songbird holds her captive... but it seems that even though she is being held against her will, both she and Songbird have developed a sort of affection for each other. Odd.

    Here's a 15 minute gameplay demo from E3.

Well, after nearly 3 years since its announcement, BioShock Infinite was released on Mar 26, 2013.... and whoa!! I just finished it last night. What a crazy ride. This is the first game in a while that I finished and immediately wanted to start again.

So far, it is the highest reviewed game of 2013 with a Metacritic score of 95. It's too bad that some of you have made your minds up about this game already. It's really quite good. Definite game of the year contender.

    Want.

But I'll probably go for the PC version.

I didn't like the first Bioshock, but I'm thinking about giving this one a try...

Could be the way the perspective is displayed. Ghost Recon gave me a strong distaste for third person, but lately I've been crushing Assassin's Creed with no strong feelings either way.

The end is really incredible. If you enjoy the game, the end will just about double your enjoyment.

I'm just getting to Monument Island. Fantastic game. :techman:

Best one I've played so far this year (although Starcraft II Heart of the Swarm comes close).

Holy shit. Does this game actually end? It's fucking epic.

Every time I thought I was nearing the ending, more stuff happened. I'm currently battling it out on the deck of the Hand of the Prophet so I'm guessing this time I have to be very close to the end.

This is easily the best game of the Bioshock series and the best game of 2013 (so far).

Alphaman, no ending spoilers yet please!

I've never played any Bioshock games. Do you think it is ok to start with this one? I really want to play it.

Yes, definitely. There's no connection between them. Different characters, different locations, similar styles of storytelling and combat.

    FUCK. ME.

What a trippy and absolutely awesome ending.

Okay, this has now become one of my top ten games of all time. I'd even rank this as one of the best "movies" I've seen in years; the story is that engaging.

Graphics were amazing and the soundtrack was unbelievable.

AlphaMan: did you sit through the entire credits to play the extra end scene?

I have to do it again. I started another playthrough. The last time I sat through the credits and a brief video. Nothing happened???!!!!
