So, having seen it, I can say that it was a decent film. Not rewatchable, in my opinion, but a marginal improvement over the 2009 effort. Several things stood out as bad calls: *The inclusion of Carol Marcus. There was no plausible reason why that character could not have been Mary Jane Bumbletits, for all her being Carol Marcus meant a damn thing at all. *Spock's "Khaaaaaaan!" This was probably among the worst of them. In the scene this is a callback to, Kirk's "Khaaaaan!" was shouted at Khan, and served the purpose of showing that Khan had finally broken through Kirk's firewall and really gotten to him. Abrams' version of Spock has, frankly, never been particularly resistant to that kind of manipulation. All in all, very forced moment. *The Vengeance being unknown. Building something that big would presumably require quite a lot of material and labor resources. Nobody wondered where all those resources were going? Or noticed a huge unaccounted-for hangar floating around... I forget where, Saturn, Jupiter, whatever? *The Jesus blood. They foreshadowed it enough for it to not be a surprise of a DEM, but that really only made it more of a when they did what we probably all knew they were ultimately and inevitably going to do with it, and in the end, it really did feel like a cheat. On balance, though, only the "Khaaaaan!" contrivance was really material. The other stuff didn't entirely wreck suspension of disbelief so much as grate on my nerves at the time it came up and then get dismissed for future consideration. On balance, between the two films, I'd say, yeah, if you watch them once, you'll be entertained. Just don't think about any of it, and don't expect much.
She really should have been either Marla McGivers (the Khan connection, which might have been too obvious) or Elizabeth Denner, since she looks JUST like her. I can easily agree on this one. We're Section 31. Ve have VAYS of hiding our shit. Mileage varies on this. Well, they don't make much pretense of being "thinking" films. And sometimes the pretense+failure is worse than no pretense at all (see: Insurrection)
Now that would be a nice cast addition for the third one. The Captain's yeoman, who happens to be sssssssssssmokin'! hot. Give Kirk that "no beach to walk on" moment.
But coke classic is not as good as the original coke with cane sugar. Some people think that coke classic is the original and it is not. Classic is the corn sugar version and you can certainly tell the difference. You can still get the original in Mexico and south america where they can buy can sugar off the world market. The usa cannot buy off the world cane sugar market.
In the Phoenix area, Mexican Coke is readily available at most places. Real sugar. Glass bottles. Full-on flavor. Mixes better than regular Coke, too.
