Found this gem of a camp about 1/2 hour from where I live. Yeah I know, Christian camp it's good for the kids, don't bash religion etc.. But when you read their camp rules, this one sort of pops out at you. WTF??? Is this Footloose or some shit?
Reminds me of the old joke... Q: "Why don't protestants fuck standing up?" A: "For fear it may lead to dancing."
A loooong time ago, when I was around 16, we were up at a friend's cabin on an island that was also home to a bible camp. Young bible kids, probably aged 10-16. We did way too many mushrooms and snuck on to the campgrounds. After determining that they were all in the chapel for some kind of service, we broke in to one of the girls dorms and found a whole bunch of cameras. We then proceeded to take close up pictures of our dicks and asses, filled up every single picture on about 7 different cameras and then replaced the cameras. I still to this day wonder what those kids' parents reactions were when they had the film developed.
Could be Church of Christ, they prohibit dancing on some of their places. (Had a friend who went to college at one of their schools who told me about it.)
Kind of reminds me of an El Qaida (sp) training camp. NO BUTTS, NO BOOZE, NO BROADS! And probably no ROCK N ROLL either. Guess it's not like BAND CAMP....
As someone who was forced to go to church camp, Rick is correct. The fact that fundies can ruin something as awesome as summer camp speaks volumes.
http://www.campopines.com/ The health and physical welfare of each camper is of great importance: lifeguards supervise all water activities, while Christian cabin leaders trained at Pensacola Christian College carefully supervise each cabin. The spiritual welfare of each camper is just as important, which is why Camp o’ the Pines teaches Bible truths to lead youth to a knowledge of Christ. The Bible gives the best light for this life and the only hope for the life to come. No other book can so enrich the minds and hearts of young people as the Book of Books. Pensacola Christian College... I should have known. Pensacola Christian College (PCC) is an unaccredited fundamentalist, Independent Baptist[1] college in Pensacola, Florida, USA, founded in 1974 by Dr. Arlin Horton. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pensacola_Christian_College My parents didn't know it was fundy. They just wanted my first camp to be close to home in case I freaked out and they needed to come pick me up. I still hold it against them to this day. They feel quite guilty. But not guilty enough.
I went to camp for a week at Harding University when I was 15. Had a great time. Awesome canoe battle in the river.
No, they overturned mine. I was at a numerical disadvantage. For some reason, I was not that popular with fellow campers. I still had a good time.
Not really my style. I prefer retaliation so that I have no moral qualms about it. Having a conscience can be a real pain in the ass.
You're right. Being the type who prefers retaliation so you can be a dick to people without moral qualms couldn't possibly have anything to do with not being very popular.
