Okay - the past week or so in the afternoon I start yawning...and yawning, about every two or three minutes. Nothing has changed in my work or home routine. I get plenty of sleep. I don't feel tired, physically or mentally. Here's some more info: I was sick two weeks ago from the mild flu. I also has a rash on my forearms with slight itching. That's gone now. Now I notice I have a weird red, pus filled area on my left shoulder blade. I went to the doctor, and to my surprise, it's not a deer tick burrowed in me that's causing an infection. She thinks it's some kind of viral infection. She drained some fluid and sent it to the lab - results are pending. She put me on some medicine they use to treat Shingles, just in case. But it's not likely that I have shingles. Also all my blood tests show normal levels of everything - cholesterol, testosterone, things like that. This is weird to say the least. Regardless, I can't wait to see the results of the fluid sample.
Probably just residual exhaustion from the flu. I had a brief and relatively mild bought of pneumonia for a time last year and when it first hit I felt ill enough that I was unable to stand and walk a few yards to the bathroom. Once my body had beaten it took me a further three weeks to regain my energy back - about five weeks in total.
If that shit in your shoulder IS viral, then you are currently fighting an infection. This is the most likely cause. It could also possibly be the shingles medication. Pathological yawning can be indicative of many things, including: migraines, seizures, strokes, MS, brain lesions and tumors. Goody! It can also indicate diseases elsewhere in the body. My first thought was something neurological before you mentioned your shoulder. Or you could just be tired without "feeling" it. Take a nap.
WOW! That's a laundry list of bad things. The internet only mentioned MS, nothing about strokes and whatnot. I really need to get that lab report STAT! I don't know what STAT means but it sounds medical, and important. Hopefully I find out tomorrow.
Allow me to respond as most of WF usually does w/ regard to health issues: OMG, get to a Doctor NOW!!!! Otherwise you'll DIE like Techman!!!! anic: :chickenwithitsheadcutoff:
I would think viral. Fighting infections can be very tiresome for your immune system. Stay calm, take your vitamins, and get plenty of rest. Oh, and have you been running any kind of fever? Even low grade ?
I don't know - I refuse to buy a thermometer because we always lose them. However the day the doctor drained my sore to get a lab sample I was not running one. Maybe the week before I was though.
