The word is inaccurate when applied to Dayton. He is not fit to use it. It pains me that education is such an important thing, and yet in some places it is entrusted to imbeciles like him. Remember - there are probably hundred of kids in Arkansas whose main source of knowledge about history comes from being taught an ultra-jingoistic version of the Cold War backwards by this guy. *shudder*
Maybe, but you give him too much credit. This is Arkansas, after all, and curriculum is standardized. Not to mention that secondary-level history embraces the trivial over the analytical. So I doubt he teaches much differently than his co-teachers.

It's probably for the same reasons that some (including you if I remember correctly, but I could be wrong) wanted to change rep...so that folks that were getting hammered like Actormike and 14th Doc could have a "voice" and other new posters could not be bullied into leaving for expressing an unpopular sentiment. I do get where Bailey's coming from, however....like the old saying about teaching pigs to whistle.
