GCRL operations manager Tom Marzella had confirmed at the time only that the video footage of the incident would be reviewed, and he was quoted by News Corp Australia as saying: "Like any biting charge, while this is a little more unusual, we just have to follow procedure." That procedure now appears to have been carried out, with an eight-week ban the tribunal's verdict. News Corp Australia quoted Watts' lawyer, Mark Williams, who appears to confirm the suspension: "Mr Watts has seven days to lodge an appeal and intends on seeking legal advice on this."
