Why would this be a surprise Garamet? President George H.W. Bush was never big on social conservatism. He always seemed to be more libertarian in that aspect than anything. And I don't recall social conservatives ever lauding George H.W. Bush as their hero or icon.
Garamet posted this without any snarky comments and with a factual title, I think you are just getting defensive Dayton since you know that socially you're on the side that's dying out on this issue. The fact it isn't that surprising is what makes a story like this cool. It shows that even among conservatives there is a growing acceptance and support of gay people. Socially the war is won, and full equal rights are an inevitability.
Its good that gay marriage is fully legalized and there aren't still people fighting against it isn't it.
I think so, which is why I voted for it. I think it's a good law that gives gays what they wanted and protected religious freedom to choose at the same time. But, I can't help but think the war will only truly be won when stuff like this isn't news anymore.
Yup. It was news a couple months ago when he shaved his head for cancer. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/george-h-w-bush-shaves-his-head-for-young-cancer-patient-1.1301376
