Yet again, there is bad news for the Republican party. According to Gallup, a meager 28% have a positive view of the GOP, which is the lowest by far that either party has scored in 25 years of tracking. Worse, it's a 10 point drop in just a matter of weeks. The shut down is not playing well for them. Here's a bit of advice from a publication that generally favors conservatism: be more like Christie. http://www.businessinsider.com/the-only-hope-for-the-gop-is-to-be-more-like-chris-christie-2013-10 I know, I know, RINO, something something, Democrats and polsters are liars, something something, the source is suspect.
Christie? Might as well merge with the Democrat party then and be done with the two party system. If Christie runs as a Republican he will not win as the same thing that happened to Romney will happen to him: Republicans will stay home and not vote. The only reason that Obama won a 2nd term is the millions of people who stayed home and didn't vote Republican because they didn't like Romney. At first everyone liked Christie just like Romney but as time wears on you see him for who he really is. Christie is even worse then Romney.
I know you guys don't trust numbers, but Romney received 11 million more votes than Bush did in 2,000. I think your theory is wrong. Lots of people voted for Romney. Even more voted for Obama. How many votes did Romney lose when he decided to embrace the lunatic wing?
Tantrums take a lot of energy. Looks as if they're getting tired of rolling on the floor and howling: http://www.newser.com/story/175654/finally-washington-sees-a-way-out.html http://www.newser.com/story/175698/boehner-lets-lift-debt-ceiling-for-6-weeks.html
The man increased the national debt by 287%, I sincerely doubt he would garner the Tea Party's favor.
I don't agree with the big business interests that traditionally control the GOP (as well as their opponents) but at least they're basically sane. They're going to have a real challenge reigning in the crazies they've unleashed.
Yes. Do you blindly agree with authority ? Do you blindly follow one party's con game because they tell better lies ? We get the point. Republicans are mean an evil and Democrats are sweet and good. The reality is both parties play the same fucking game. It's called Screw The People.
Can you give an example? No and no. What is there about me that makes you think I would do either? Are they? Please explain. You've just contradicted your previous statement.
I honestly believe Romey would have won the election if he hadn't had to pretend like he was radical right in order to win the Republican primary. He might have even made a good president, but the independants just didn't know who they would be voting for if they voted for him.
And this is why the Republican party can't nominate sane candidates: Every time they lose, the party's fringe starts saying "Well, obviously our problem was that we should have nominated someone who was even more of a raving loon!" Romney is a douchenozzle with no real core values other than doing what will advance his own career. (Note: Having core values does not mean being an extremist; political moderates can have core values just as strong.) If anything was his undoing, it was that. When Republicans nominate an actual moderate -- somebody with a track record of fiscal conservatism and sensible government, of keeping the reins on spending, demanding accountability and curbing the excesses of public employee unions, but without the shrieking insanity and the 1950s social agenda -- that person will nearly always win in a landslide.
You seem to have messed up the tags. While I wait for you to sort them, I'll just address the last sentence: You don't seem to believe in anything, except posting smilies and Lauryn Hill songs. 'Everything is everything'. If I've misunderstood you, I'm sure you'll correct me.
Are you two drunk? Reagan increased spending. He increased the debt. He raised taxes. He didn't automatically oppose every gun control law. If he was alive today, you'd be calling him a communist and demanding to see his birth certificate.
Because I suggested you fix your tags, or because I asked you what you believed in? Based on your posts, you seem to be saying "everything is the same as everything else." You don't seem to be in a hurry to correct that, so I'll have to guess it's true. No need to worry about the tags anymore, anyway. Oh, I'm sorry. I just realized you think it's "not cool to eat people." So I guess you do believe in something. It's a start.
No see, it's different because he's "their guy". You could run Obama with an "-R" next to his name, and they'd anoint him on the spot.
Increasing spending to finance rebuilding the U.S. military is fine and dandy to me. I would support that even today (which is desperately needed).
If he was white with an R after his name doing exactly the same but treating Democrats the same as he treats the R's, lefties would hate him.
It really shows how ignorant the left is about Reagan that they've taken to consistently playing the whole "if he were alive today he couldn't win the election much less the nomination" card. It shows their ignorance of the situation Reagan found himself in when he took office, what he stood for, what those of us on the right stand for, and what people who support the Tea Party are really about.
