They don't want them to express their love, be in a relationship with those love, they want to prevent them from being in a civil union, and they don't want them to enjoy the same rights that heterosexuals do in a civil union. To be honest I first heard it in regards to Star Trek. One person criticizing ST:TNG was annoyed that it seemed nearly EVERY Federation official visiting the Enterprise turned out to be an "unrepentant dickhead". There is nothing comparable with pedophilia, which involves somebody who cannot consent. As I consider your views on child raising, I can see how you might not understand the difference, but it's fairly obvious to any thinking person.
