oh man guys i'm so intrigued and lots of other positive buzzwords over the bullet holes in the british plane's wing

    WHAT COULD IT MEAN

IS SOMEBODY SHOOTING AT SOMETHING BRITISH

I'M SURE IT DOESN'T MEAN THERE'S NOTHING OF SUBSTANCE TO WHATEVER THEY'RE SELLING AND SO THEY HAVE TO GO THE BURMA SHAVE ROUTE

THIS QUESTION IS OCCUPYING 99.99% OF MY BRAIN

wait, no, i have that backwards, never mind

No idea what they thought they were doing with that combine ad.

I guess the Bruin Jupiter stuff happened while we were on commercials? Suits me fine.

Uh-oh. He is . . . gone. Terrible coverage indeed. He's got three guys within arm's length at one point and gets away scot-free.

    Where was that pass?

Doberhuahua = horrible idea and ridiculous powers of Photoshop. Was that actually Sarah Mclachlin? (The joke there, I don't know if you foreigners would know this, there's a pet rescue commercial with her "Angel" song playing in the background.)

    Fun Radio Shack ad.

"Sponsored by Coca-Cola. Open happiness." Dude you don't have the right voice to say those last two words.

We've secretly replaced the Broncos' defense with the D from the mid-00s Rams. Let's see if they notice.

I'm sorry, but whenever I hear about the Denver Broncos, all I can think about is that episode of The Simpsons.

So has anyone ever been shut out in a Super Bowl before?

Sorry, Chrysler, but Honda built my car way the hell better than the last piece-of-shit Dodge I owned.

Oh hey a movie I might actually see. The thing is, to make it worthwhile being Captain America, the content can't just be some generic action movie and that's kinda all I saw in the trailer, you know?

I guess Gonzo was too busy with that commercial to learn his lines for the previous one. I was kinda worried there.

Oh fer  Wow. Are the Broncos going to get any points?

    "Nice" car ad.

    Nice soldier spot.

I reiterate my Rams comment. You hit a guy with two pairs of guys and he heads right into the endzone?

I was hoping the Broncos would at least get a couple of touchdowns, but they don't seem to be getting anything done.

[edit] Yeah, I think the Dolphins shut someone out.

    Not in a Super Bowl.

Now I'm rooting for the Seahawks to make history with a shutout.

Good thing Nestle didn't spring for a longer spot, or we'd be watching a pretty disturbing orgy.

That's nice, Microsoft, but maybe you should put some of that commercial budget into developing an operating system that doesn't suck.

    There they go! Touchdown Broncos.

Can I just mention how ridiculous I think it is to have the clock run when the ball goes out of bounds, ever?

"We can fix this." says a Jets fan. Ooh, and a chance to point and laugh at Bears fans. I like this commercial.

"This is unreal. It's what luxury looks like." -- boring white with an overlong engine compartment?

    Fourth quarter start!

Popped up right at a Seahawk.

Did nobody notice the ball carrier running outside? I think the little ovals in my '95 Gameboy game have more awareness than that, and they all wear glue on their noses.

Another guy dodges away from the first-down line, and this one fails to get back to it. Dude, you're just running out the clock. You don't need highlight plays.

    Inspiring technology commercial.

What drives me? The appreciation for living in a world where I don't have to, for example, watch stupid action movies.

Peyton Manning, top 5 all-time QB? There's a lot of contenders for that. Brady, Stabler, Tarkenton, Marino, Montana, Unitas off the top of my head. I don't know football history that well, but I wouldn't assert that so confidently.

Ooh, this ad has a doggy and a horsey!

American Idol 13. Reality TV is a teenager now.

And that's the end of it. Congrats to the Seahawks.

    So, commercial winners:
    1: Tim Tebow / T-Mobile
    2. VW
    3. Drummin' Granster / Pizza Hut
Honorable Mention: RadioShack, Muppets / vehicle, hooking the elusive Quattro, the vehicle ad with the pinata

Losers: NFL Combine, clunky energy ad (but it's been running for a while), most TV and movie ads by default, and a perpetual spot left open for Pepsi

As for food, we had toasted ravioli and crinkle-cut fries, with popcorn for dessert.

Game - great playing by the Seahawks, very disappointing showing by the Broncos. Boring overall as it was so lopsided.

    Commercials:
Radio Shack "80s" commercial was the best one IMO.

Kudos to Cheerios for a nice, cute ad that revisits the mixed-race family from their previous "controversial" commercial.

Stephen Colbert's Pistachio ad was good--taken as one whole ad, instead of just two halves.

Bud Light "Whatever" ads...Meh. Not up to the hype.

Enjoyed the Tim Tebow "No Contract" ads for Verizon T Mobile.

Also liked the "VW Engineers get their wings" ad.

Axe "Peace" - make Love not War ad was also cool.

LOL'd at the Dannon Oikos "Full House reunion" ad--mostly ad Stamos "accidentally" dropping yogurt on his crotch as a come on to the hawt chick.

Heinz Ketchup ad...WTF? :wtf: Is the point that only old Grandmas use the ultra-convenient squeeze bottle, while everyone else uses the old school glass bottle that you can never get any ketchup out of? :soma: Stupid!

Soda Stream ad - If you're going to have an ad starring Scarlett Johannson, dress her in something that shows a little cleavage, fer chrissake!!!!

Well, Seattle FINALLY got an NFL ring. The Seahawks were overdue! During the commercials & half-time I was watching "Fantasy Island" on COZI. Something tells me the Broncos will be making a trip to Roarke & Tattoo now:D
