That's up to Nova. I don't have the right to share that information here. Where's your Facebook link? Why don't you demonstrate who you really are, so that Wordforge can better judge whether your advice is worthwhile?

I don't know why you won't help out a family member if they need food. I have a cousin who I wouldn't give money to but when he asked for cash to buy food I went out and bought a car load of food from Costco just so I knew he had food and that the money wouldn't be misused. It seems pretty cold hearted to not even bother to give food to a family member. I mean how low can you get?

So I have started the ball rolling with my pastor, and he seems confident about getting in contact with sympathetic ears in Mississippi via Facebook, but he's going to at least need a name and region of the state. If someone wants to PM me the necessary information, I can pass it along. Or if you would rather coordinate with him directly, I could pass along his email to one of the people closer to the situation and things can go from there.

The problem is that, once they know you'll buy them food should they be in need, they no longer have to worry about even trying to buy it themselves. If you're dealing with addicts or similarly irresponsible types, all you're doing is giving them the freedom to allocate more of their budget to drugs or alcohol or cigarettes or whatever, wihout having to worry about the consequences. You're directly subsidizing the very choices you object to.

It's the same principle as when the government provides social assistance to minimum wage employees.

(And yes, I'm speaking from personal experience.)

I havent read the full thread but it looks like

    - nova's had a serious accident
    - some people want to donate to help, some dont
    - Flashlight says its a suicide attempt and uses this to justify his position??

That about right? If so it really is calous. People do have strong opinions on suicide, I completley get that. But having been the unfortunate guy who got the last 5minutes of a total strangers life a few months ago i can tell you straight they really do need help. Whatever is going on in their mind, it's not working! And yes, it messed me up for a little while too!

To suggest that nova is not worthy of assistance because it was self inflicted really is fucked up. To see conspiracies and an excuse to start teh drama really is low.

You don't want to help out, no biggy. Dont start all this shite in the stickied thread.

As per usual, stay classy wordforge!

The suicide thing came from a tangent that someone mentioned may be a concern....and with everything that's happened in the past few years, I can't say it wouldn't cross my mind in a similar situation. Then Flashy jumped on that in his usual attention whoring routine to piss people off.

I'm not claiming to have broken my neck in a workplace accident, and I'm not soliciting charitable donations. So cut the crap and produce the link, mmmkay? What are you hiding?

Too bad, 'cause that'd be wonderful news, which would brighten everyone's day.
Good thing too, as I'm pretty sure you'd get bupkisss, and deservedly so.
Why am I not surprised that you don't respect another's right of privacy?
We're "hiding" nothing. What part of "not our information to reveal" is it that you don't understand, you pathetic dipshit?

Which is obvious because you get all the details wrong

*Something* has allegedly happened to Shep. We've been told us that he broke his neck in a workplace accident, that he is currently in ICU, and that despite initial fears of paralysis, he can wiggle his toes and has sensation to his extremities. We've also been treated to Anc & Dr. Tamar's expert opinions that his wife, who has had to deal with Shep's gender-bending revelations, is a wacko nutjob who can't be trusted to get her hands on any money that's donated. Opinions that I assume Anc, Dr. Tamer and the rest of the inner circle aren't sharing with Mrs. Crazy.

What actually happened? Who knows? We've been told the Facebook post describing what happened has been deleted.

Tuckerfan then started to talk about suicide and made an admission that not everything that's been said about Shep's situation is completely true. Which would lead anyone with half a brain (hence the failure of Anc, Dr. Tamar and Mag-gie-butu to engage with this analysis) to question what parts of what we've been told are true, and what parts....aren't. Faceman then said it was a "failed stockroom hanging." Did he make that up? Possibly - he is Faceman after all.

*I'm* not saying anything. I don't know what happened. And, once again, I'm not the one who started talking about suicide.

If you'd read back a page or two, you'd have seen where I opined that folks who are predisposed to donate wouldn't care about what happened, so why the cover-up?

My position is not that Shep doesn't deserve charity (although Volpone makes excellent points about the ultimate benefit), but that there is a very strong odor suggesting that Anc & gul aren't being honest about what's going on with Shep. They've obviously got info they don't want revealed lest it dampen people's willingness to donate to this latest cause celeb. They're playing a game of peek-a-boo, and making heavy-handed decisions about what people should know. All of which makes me wonder what *their* agendas are here.

I think Mrs. Shep really needs to know what Anc & Dr. Tamer think of her. Facebook link please?
