What a dumbass. Apparently the shooter was charged for deadly conduct and rightfully so. It's a fucking I-phone. He managed a trifecta here. Buying the I-phone was mistake number one, selling it on craigslist was the second, and the third was to try to shoot the guy.
Craigslist has spawned quite a few robberies of this sort. In my neighborhood a guy brought thousands of dollars in cash to a meet-up to buy a car. This was in a well-lit high visibility area in a grocery store parking lot, very typical place for selling cars. The only car this buyer got to see was a getaway car after they robbed him of his cash. Actually this has happened several times come to think of it. My son went to a faraway town (public area) to sell things but brought along a few friends and phoned updates to me constantly during the transaction. It's always risky that's for sure.
I thought Texas law allowed for the protection of property. Not that I agree with that, but just asking. As for the particular robbery, that is why when ever I buy or sell something via CL I always have someone with me a discrete distance away
Well the article does say it was at 1030 pm when the police arrived so I assume it was dark. Still the guy is an idiot. First you should have someone with you. Second you shouldn't be shooting at a fleeing felon unless he still constitutes a threat.
