That the fabric of American is, like a tapestry, made up of all the many threads and stitches to have been part of the country for the past 237 years and, whether you like it or not, Muslims have been a part of that for nearly 200 years to the extent that American Muslims are now 2.6million strong and multi-generational. If you are making the case that only 1776 matters then you are also making the case that social groups like African-Americans and Italian Americans are also not part of the fabric of American.
