Exactly. Colonel Jack O'Neill would never have approved the stupid ascension plan. The Romans had some crude swords and bronze spears, and Jesus had the power of God at his disposal, far beyond even the Ancients. So did he awe everyone with a spectacular display of physics and light? Did he fling the Roman's weapons into the ocean? Did he project a 50 foot image of himself and walk among them? Did he make himself invisible? No, he chose the tie-me-up and gut me like a fish plan. That's what you get when you put civilians in charge.
